Selene waited outside the Big House for her quest mates to arrive, next to her stood Luke. His arms wrapped around her as he prepared to be parted from her once again. They spoke in hushed whispers to avoid being overheard.

Percy made his way up to the couple, bag hanging off of one shoulder. "Hi?"

The couple jumped apart. "Oh, hi, Percy. Are you ready for your first quest?" Selene asked, walking forward to meet the boy.

"Actually, I'm quite nervous if I'm being honest." Percy admitted. "Annabeth and Grover are waiting for us at the border. We're going to be late if we don't go now."

Selene nodded and looked at Luke. "Well, I'll see you when I see you?"

He nodded and hugged her. "Be safe, don't do anything stupid. I love you."

"I love you too, bye Luke." She kissed him and then walked off with Percy.

"So, you and Luke, huh?" Percy asked as they walked.

"Oh, we've been together for a few years. Did he not say anything?" When Percy shook his head, it made her laugh. "It's something that doesn't get announced because everyone knows, you know?"

They made it to the tall pine tree that stood strong and proud. Chiron was waiting there with Annabeth and Grover beside him. Argus stood a bit behind them, waiting as well.

"This is Argus," Chiron explained to Percy. "He will drive you into the city, and, well, keep an eye on things."

There were footsteps running up the hill that got everyone's attention. Luke came running up the hill, carrying a pair of basketball shoes.

"Awww, babe, I should have known that you would have started to miss me already." Selene teased.

"Ha ha, so funny." Luke joked back. "I just wanted to say good luck, and I thought you could use these." He spoke to Percy as he held out the shoes to the boy.

"Not those things, I hate them." Selene muttered. "You should burn them."

"Just because you're horrible at using them doesn't mean that others won't find the useful, Sel." Luke spoke. "Maia!" The shoes grew wings and started to flutter before folding back in, disappearing.

"Awesome!" Grover commented.

Luke smiled. "Those served me well when I was on my quest. A gift from my Dad. Of course, I don't use them much these days."

"Hey, man. Thank you." Percy thanked him as he took the shoes and shoved them into his bag.

"Listen, Percy." Luke spoke again. "A lot of hopes are riding on you. So just... kill some monsters for me, okay? Oh, and make sure Selene doesn't go getting herself into trouble." He grinned teasingly.

"Okay, you can go back to Camp now, Luke." Selene blushed.

Luke just laughed and bid his goodbyes before going back to the camp, blowing Selene a kiss as he walked.

"He's lucky he's cute. Otherwise, I would have strangled him by now." Selene muttered under her breath, which Percy heard and laughed at.

Selene walked over to Thalia's tree as Chiron talked to the younger demigods and Grover. Kneeling next to the trunk of the tree, she ran her fingers along the base of the trunk. She visited Thalia's tree often, mostly to talk to her about Luke and Annabeth. She didn't know why, but it always felt as if someone was there and listening to her. She heard her name being called, so she said goodbye to Thalia and rejoined the ground.
