Chapter 1

"Thank you for coming to Lily's Diner I'm Carrie and I will be your server here today." I said without even looking up, it may seem rude but I really wanted to get home so I can go on a ride with my horse, today was the perfect day to enjoy it.

"I will take the ultimate deluxe burger with a side of large fries with water to drink." I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as I hear the guys order I quickly wrote it down and went to the kitchen to give the cook his order.

It took about 5 minutes before finally the food was done.

I walked over to his table and actually looked at him this time he looked about my age witch means that he should be in school, but he's not.

I frowned I wonder why?

"Here's your order" I said "anything else?"

He looked up at me that's when I really got the chance to check him out he had light blue eyes with short brown hair he wore a gray t-shirt with jeans and boots.

I saw a hand in my face and realized that I had been caught starring.

"Oh sorry anything else?" I felt my cheeks heat up when I ask the question over again.

He shook his head laughing and me before he said " No thanks."

I walked away talking off my apron thing that I have to wear and went to walk out the door but not before I sent that guy a glare.

I walked back home it took me only about 10 minutes and when I got there I noticed the the house across the road had a moving truck parked in the driveway. That meant we had new neighbors we haven't had neighbors in 5 years so it gets kinda lonely out here sometimes but we get use to it I guess.

After standing there and seeing no people I guessed that they went in town or are unpacking, so I went to my barn.

I got my favorite horse her name was brownie I named her when I was 11 so don't judge.

I got my black saddle with matching blanket and bridle. I brushed her and put everything on her and off we went.

We went up the road a little bit then cut of and went into the woods to my favorite spot, the lake and by lake I mean a lake it was huge I go fishing here a sometimes even swim but today I just came to look at the view and take a few pictures of the water and even a couple pictures of brownie.

When I looked at the time I realized I was here for almost 2 whole hours.

My dad was probably wondering where I was and I used this opportunity to have brownie run to help get her ready for the show next Saturday we have almost always won a ribbon in the barrel race and the real race.

Brownie ran fast we were out of the woods I record time, I slowed her down though when we got on the road we were now going as a trot but I slowed her down to a walk when I saw the guy from Lily's Diner.

He wasn't walking by himself he was walking with what looked like an older version of him.

When I got close enough to them I saw the guy from the Diner look back at me. I really need to learn his name I thought to myself, but before he could say anything to me I made brownie run and she ran as fast as she could back to the barn it was a 20 minute time at the speed we were going but it only took us 9 minutes.

I feed her and moved along to my other horse Daisy and feed her to, then I gave them both fresh water before leaving.

When I started walking to my house when I saw my dad out on our porch talking to no other then the guy from the Diner.
