Ana was curled up on her couch, lost in the pages of her book, when her phone chimed with a new message. She looked at the screen and saw Kane's name, which made her smile. She swiped to open the text.

Kane: Hey beautiful! I'm throwing a party at my place this Friday night. It's going to be epic-good music, great food, and amazing company. I'd be thrilled if you could come. Let me know if you're up for it!

Ana's cheeks flushed with pleasure as she read the message. She quickly typed a response.

Ana: Hey Kane! That sounds fun... what time should I show up?

Kane's reply was almost instant.

Kane: Awesome! The fun kicks off at 8 PM. Can't wait to see you there!

Ana's smile widened. She set her phone down and snuggled deeper into her couch, her mind buzzing with anticipation. The thought of a fun evening with Kane and his friends was exactly what she needed.

Later that evening, Ana burst into Lisa's room, her excitement barely contained. Lisa looked up from her desk, where she was buried under a pile of notes and textbooks.

"Guess what?" Ana said, her eyes sparkling. "Kane just invited us to his party this Friday!"

Lisa looked up, her expression a mix of curiosity and hesitation. "A party? That sounds fun, but..."

Ana plopped down on the edge of Lisa's bed and gave her a pleading look. "Come on, Lisa! It's going to be amazing. Kane's hosting, and he's a great host. There's going to be music, food, and all our friends. It'll be just what we need to unwind."

Lisa raised an eyebrow. "I don't know, Ana. You know how I feel about Casimiro. I really don't want to deal with him again."

Ana's face fell slightly, but she quickly rallied with a bright smile. "I get it, I really do. But think about it-this is a chance to have a good time and get out of the house. And Kane's party is going to be the perfect escape from all the stress. Besides, you can always stay away from Casimiro if that makes you more comfortable."

Lisa sighed and rubbed her forehead. "I don't know. I just feel like I'm not up for it right now."

Ana scooted closer, her tone taking on a softer, more earnest note. "Lisa, I understand you're feeling overwhelmed. But sometimes a change of scenery and a little fun can do wonders. Plus, it's been a while since we've done something just for us. You deserve a break, and I could really use your company. You'll be my wingwoman, and I promise, we'll have a blast."

Lisa glanced at Ana's hopeful face and saw the sincerity in her eyes. She hesitated for a moment longer before finally nodding. "Okay, okay. I'll go. But only if you promise that if things get too weird, we can leave whenever we want."

Ana's face lit up with pure joy. "Deal! You won't regret it, I promise. It's going to be a great night. And who knows? Maybe it'll be a chance to have a fresh start with Casimiro."

Lisa managed a small smile, feeling a bit more at ease. "That's not going to happen, but I could use a chance to wind down."

Ana jumped up, clapping her hands with excitement. As Ana bounced out of the room, Lisa couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement mixed with her lingering apprehension. She hoped the party would indeed be a welcome distraction and not a repeat of her previous awkward encounter with Casimiro.

Lisa stood in front of her full-length mirror, her heart pounding as she eyed her reflection. The room was filled with the soft hum of music from her playlist, but it did little to drown out her growing anxiety. She tugged at the hem of her dress, a deep navy blue that Ana had insisted she wear.
