A Promise (My Inner Demons x Reader

Prologue

(A/n: this story is inspired by 'What is love' by rain never ends so some of the scenes will look like hers. And PLS DONT COME FOR ME, I JUST REALLY LIKED HER PROLOGUE SO I TOOK INSPIRATION FROM IT. Anyways this is my first story and maybe some grammar or words are wrong.. Read What is love by rain never ends. Its really good)

  The dark, spooky forest of daemos was truly a breathtaking sight. A world full of magic. Both in it's creatures, to it's different greeneries. The sight of dark trees with blue canopies of leaves falling down the soil, small gaps in the leaves., allowing  thousands of stars to peak through it, truly breathtaking. The florals in the area, while toxic, could leave anyone allured by its beauty.

   Nozomi would have put her guard up but was too distracted, taking in the beauty of the forest with curiousity, after being inside for years, she could finally see the outside again, she was left in awe, it was hard not to be engrossed in it. She was carrying a younger Y/n in her arms, as Michi, Y/n's older sister was already waiting outside the portal.

  She was snapped back to reality by her husband, Cleo snapping his fingers infront of her. "Nozomi! Let's go, we don't have much time left!" She quickly flutter her eyes, and started running again. "Cleo, why do we have to leave? I thought we made a deal with the daemos's kingdom?" "Honey, I'll explain it to you once we've reached e-urth, we do-" Cleo was quick to shut his mouth when he heard a rustling noise in the distance.

  Cleo's quick reflexes made Nozomi quickly halt her steps and look back to Cleo "Leo, what is it-" Before she could continue Cleo quickly ran towards her and pulled her behind a tree.

"Nozomi, go first through the portal, I'll be behind you. I need to take care of this first." He says in a hushed voice. "But Cleo-!" "Honey, just go." Nozomi was about to say more but was met by a harsh glare from her husband, and she sighed before quietly running.

Cleo was one of the  soul-bearing humans in deamos, after he overheard the eldest son, Rhal's conversation with his wife, Lady Bish he found out the cruel way the daemos harvested the power within them, he quickly made a plan to escape with his family. Cleo hasn't told he's wife that he knew this information. Daemos, the main inhabitant of the floating islands, we're merciless when it came through power.

While Cleo was walking he had long felt somebody following him. If he failed this both him and his family will face the consequences. Even if he was spared he would never ever see his family ever again, his beautiful, welcoming wife, Nozomi, his lovely, strong eldest daughter Michi, and Y/n who was barely a toddler, if his plan failed he would surely not see his daughters grow up. Maybe in another universe he would be able to raise them and grow old with his wife.

Every second was suffocating, as Cleo's mind had ideas of what was or will happen to him or his family. His heart was pounding so hard that he thinks he's ribs will break. His mouth dried as he breathed heavily. He tried to stay composed but, his mind and body wa else where, he's body shook as he tried to stay on the path he was supposed to follow but his vision was blurry.

Cleo knew how persistent daemos can be so it will be hard to escape their grasp, he could only wish he would survive this situation but it will all be worth it, if his family could go to the portal, atleast hey wouldn't be sacrificed as a soul bearing human. He can hear the footsteps behind him getting closer and closer, he retrieve one of his swords and swung it to the
Assailants, in hopes to slow it down. He heard a loud thud to the ground, but the footsteps remained. One more guard was after him. A glimpse of his family with him was the only thing he could cling for hope.

Once he turned around too get a glimpse of who was the last guard following him, but that hopes were crushed, as something knocked him down on his feets, as if sensing him hurling to the ground, he drew his other word to block he ttack hat was about to end him in one swing, only having it flung behind him, his eyes widen. Due to his weak state. Looming overhim was a great general pierce, who was still young. He lost his voice through his throat, but rage shook him shook him through the core. He had been so close, so close to escape with his family, to warn the other soul-bearing humans if they were still alive. He could'nt help but imagine what his dead corpse would be like, how'd his family would be forced to leave without him,he wished he could see them grow up, get married, have kids, and all of the most important stuff that will happen to them in the future. His body shook with white anger as he said hes last words.

"That's one thing about you! You daemos lack kindness! Maybe not now but as time goes on you'll realize your mistakes you'll all turn on to each other... And what happens to us will happen to you!" He spat, his anger not faltering, not even a second. Pierce did not flinch, he only raised his sword and ended Cleo, once and for all. His soul rose up and was grabbed by the hands of the menacing guard.

And from the portal, his wife, Nozomi felt that his husband's presence, wiped out. As she wept st the desth of her husband. While Michi created the portal

"Mother... We have to leave the portal isn't gonna be here for long." She nodded taking her daughter's hand, while Nozomi's other arm was holding a baby Y/n in her arm.
