"If I told you I missed you, would you come back?" I felt the tears start to build up, but I gulped them back in.
"Delilah. You broke up with me, don't you remember?" His big hazel eyes staring into my dull brown ones." I never wanted to break up with you, but you wanted me to let you free, and I did."
" But, "
" But what? You didn't love me anymore. " His eyes were full of sadness.
" Tell me you don't love me anymore." I gently grab his cheek. His warmth feels my stomach with butterflies.
" Delilah. Stop." He pulls my hand away.
" Tell me you don't. " I was hoping he'd say he couldn't do that, because he still loved me.
" Okay. I don't. Im over you. Im done. I have no feelings anymore. When I look at you, I feel nothing. Now leave me alone, and forget about me."
I couldn't speak. How could our love be ruined, so quickly. How could he have forgotten how much we loved each other. I felt broken. Shattered. Unloved. He got up from his seat and left. Leaving me.
I stayed there for a little bit, not knowing what to do now. I imagined this so much different. Finally I got up and left the cafe we were at. I started walking home. Swallowing my tears. The rain falling made me feel numb.
I didnt wanna hurt anymore.
How did I ever let him go? He was perfect, and now he's gone.
