As Vespera was stripped of her powers and banished to the cursed Woods of Hell, her name became a dark whisper among the people. Her son, Alex, bore the burden of her legacy. Cast out and shunned due to his mother's infamy, he struggled to find acceptance in a world that judged him by his heritage. Unable to secure employment or find a family willing to adopt him, Alex learned to fend for himself. The sorcery school where he studied became his sanctuary and his teachers his parental figures, guiding him with the compassion and wisdom he had lost.

Determined to rise above his mother's shadow, Alex vowed to use his powers for justice and compassion, embodying the hope and resilience that Illumia both needed and feared. As he grew, so did his resolve to prove that even those born from darkness could forge their own path toward the light.

"ALEX'S POV"

Alex Thornheart, at fifteen years old, is a figure of quiet determination. With messy brown hair that often falls into his eyes and round glasses perched on his freckled, light olive skin, Alex looks every bit the diligent student of sorcery. His face is dotted with small freckles that hint at countless hours spent outdoors, even as he works tirelessly in his training. Despite his decade of intense practice, he remains deeply affected by his mother's dark legacy. Driven by the hope of proving himself, he pushes forward in a world that still feels out of reach.

The sorcery school's training grounds were alive with activity as students practiced their spells. I stood nervously on the edge of the field, waiting for my turn to demonstrate my skills before Master Elric and my peers.

"Alright, Alex," Master Elric called, his gaze steady. "Show us what you've got."

I stepped forward, gripping my wand. "Golden Cascade!" I commanded, but instead of the vibrant, controlled stream I'd hoped for, the spell sputtered and fizzled, barely making an impact.

A murmur of disappointment went through the crowd. Master Elric approached, concern etched on his face. "Alex, what's happening?"

I looked down, ashamed. "I don't know, Master. I've been practicing, but it just didn't work today."

Master Elric placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Magic, especially Golden Magic, is deeply tied to the stars and cosmic forces. Elves were the first to channel these energies, maintaining balance in nature and the universe. Since your mother, Vesperia Thornheart, caused chaos, we haven't seen elves in generations. They were crucial for balancing the elements—nature elves, water elves, and the rare cosmic elves."

I shifted uncomfortably, feeling the weight of my mother's legacy. "I feel like I'm constantly being compared to her, and it's hard to live up to that."

Master Elric's eyes softened. "It's not about matching her power or living up to her past. Magic requires understanding and control. It's about connecting with the cosmic forces and finding your own way."

I took a deep breath, determined to prove myself. "I want to be different. I want to show that I'm not like her."

Master Elric nodded. "That's a good start. Magic is about connecting with the cosmic forces and directing them with intention. With practice, you'll discover your own path."

I practiced diligently, focusing on the principles of Golden Magic. With Master Elric's guidance, I gradually improved. As the sun set, casting long shadows, I managed a steady Golden Cascade. It wasn't perfect, but it was progress.

Tristan, my best friend, stood by with a supportive grin. "You're getting there, Alex. Keep it up." Lily, my other best friend sat next to him and looked at me "You can do this!"

Master Elric smiled. "Well done, Alex. It's about how you continue, not where you start."

Feeling a renewed sense of determination, I realized that despite the challenges, I could honor the magical heritage of the cosmos and carve my own path forward.
