Word spread quickly in their social circle that Celestiana had officially defied her father and chosen Alicia over the family business. The news caused a ripple effect, with whispers of rebellion and scandal following them wherever they went. But despite the gossip, Celestiana and Alicia found solace in their decision, even as the world seemed determined to tear them apart.

For the first time, they were living their lives openly. No more sneaking around. No more hiding. And though it was liberating, it was also terrifying.

One evening, they attended a charity event together, fully aware of the stares they would attract. As they walked into the ballroom, hand in hand, conversations quieted, and eyes followed them.

Alicia squeezed Celestiana's hand, giving her a reassuring smile. "Let them look."

Celestiana smiled back, her heart swelling with pride. "Let them."

But not everyone was as supportive. As they mingled through the crowd, they overheard whispers—some subtle, others not so much.

"Is that really Celestiana and Alicia? I can't believe they're flaunting it like this."

"Her father must be furious. I heard they're on the verge of losing a major deal because of this."

"How selfish. She's putting herself above the business."

Despite the cruel comments, Celestiana kept her head held high. She was done letting other people's opinions dictate her life. Alicia was her priority, and nothing was going to change that.

But as the night wore on, they couldn't avoid the confrontation that had been brewing. Toward the end of the event, a familiar figure approached them—Celestiana's father, his expression unreadable.

"Celestiana," he greeted coldly, his eyes flickering between her and Alicia. "I see you've made your choice."

"I have," Celestiana replied, standing tall beside Alicia.

Her father's gaze shifted to Alicia, his lips curling in disdain. "I hope you're happy with what you've done."

Before Celestiana could respond, Alicia stepped forward, her voice calm but firm. "What Celestiana and I have is real. It's not about business, or money, or power. It's about love. And if you can't accept that, then that's your problem, not ours."

Her father's face darkened, his jaw tightening in anger. But before he could say anything, Celestiana spoke up.

"Let's go, Ali. We don't need to stay here any longer."

Without another word, they turned and walked away, leaving behind the whispers, the judgment, and the disapproval.
