A year passed and my birthday inched closer. I would turn nineteen years old without my dad this time, but with a group I got close with in a short matter of time. During that time I remembered a saying that burned its way into my head.

Blood runs thicker than water.

And it seemed to be true. I connected with people that were strangers. And they turned to be my new family. A family that would kill for each other.

Noah Jones was sat in his living room, a picture of his beloved daughter in his hands. Tears glimmered in his eyes while the smallest smile was drawn on his lips. His thumb carefully ran over the picture as a drop fell from his eye. "Happy almost Birthday, Eves."

He wouldn't stop like they did with Ivan. He wanted to find his little girl. No matter the costs. So that day Noah grabbed a flashlight and his keys before getting into his car to drive to the woods, having a feeling she'd hide there if she was still in Pennsylvania.

Once he got out the man immediately got to it, first going the familiar path the family used to walk almost every day. The Jones family always had a connection to the woods, which seemed weird to some people.

Instead of spending their day in their backyard all four of them went into the creepy forest, not worrying about what creature might lurk behind the next tree. That was until Evie's accident and Suzana's death.

Since then he hadn't put a single foot into the place filled with trees, bushes and animals.

I hated my birthday. It reminded me of the year everything went south from. Of course I never told anybody, who in their right mind ever says they hate the day they were born? It would only make people thing you're even more coo-coo than you might already be.

So the night prior to May seventeenth I decided to head to the junk yard to let off some steam.

A lonely Eveline walked the way to the place filled with trash, soon finding the metal baseball bat that now rested on top of a car. Seemed like Jeff had come by a lot more than she had.

Instead of wondering what the guy had done she picked it up and went towards the yellow bus, noticing how it had gotten a whole lot uglier than before. Shrugging it off she just swung back and let it crash against the already chipping paint, a low grunt escaping her clenched teeth.

"Hey, where'd Eveline go?" In confusion Nina went downstairs, a bottle of purple nail polish tightly clapsed in her hand. In the living room she saw EJ, Jane and BEN, the girl having to act as a referee since the boys decided to play some game Hopkins couldn't decipher at the moment. "Don't know, why?" "Haven't seen her in a bit, and I need help painting my nails." "I can help."

Jane looked over her shoulder towards one of her best friends, hoping she'd agree because the woman was desperate to get out of that situation. Everyone knew how competitive those boys could get if something was on the line, and this time it would be decided that if BEN won EJ would have to get him a new laptop while on the contrary EJ would be getting a stash of kidneys.

"Love you Jane but Evie is a pro at painting nails. Isn't her birthday in like thirty minutes, too?" "Yeah, tomorrow's the seventeenth of May." Nina's eyes widened when she heard what Jane said, quickly hiding the small bottle in the pocket of her hoodie. "Well, what are we waiting for? Pack out those decorations! Move it, people, move it!"

She loudly clapped a few times, getting them off of the couch and the others, who were all around the mansion, fastly ran towards them. Hoodie carrying a gun and Masky with his crowbar tightly held in his right hand were the first two to walk up to Nina. "What's going on?" "Yeah, what happened?"
