The Place That Never Leaves My Mind

The blackboards in my sight and the chalk dust on my face,
Reminds me that I'm at school, a bit of a weird place,
Where students cause riots like it's their everyday meal,
And the gossip is endless so anyone can feel,

That this is a chaotic place where abnormalities reign,
Over the natural, intelligent and some utterly insane.
But truly this could be a place where knowledge rains,
From the most useless to the most invaluable to attain.

As the youngest is king in the family, the athletic kid is the same,
To our large & bustling school where nerds were considered lame,
Until tests are upcoming where their disappointment stays,
Until they turn towards the smartest kid & their relief would then lay,

In the dining hall where some would find solace and peace.
But strangely, some don't feed themselves, but the tables instead,
I pity the cleaners who clean piece by piece,
The same fate for me is what I always dread,

Schools seem endless when you're through the city streets,
But when it comes to the countryside, there aren't many elites,
As they walk for hours to reach what they call a school,
But they only find themselves in another horrible duel,

Against the harsh reality that they can't read,
Not a single word to their displeasure.
Nor could they write though they could proceed,
Their lives as farmers while fighting every disease.

No matter how much I seem to hate school truly,
When summer starts, I miss it deeply,
Because the memories I made are truly precious.
They pass by so fast yet it's so glorious.
