DISCLAIMER
I am republishing this author's note because I somehow always skip the © Srijita Chakraborty, 2024 thing.
Which means, you can't take anything from this book, even if that's inspiration. I have worked with devotion to learn more about the culture I was born in, and am reading books to gain knowledge. It is crucial for me to be careful because what I am writing about, I can't take the risk of portraying anything false, that is against the notion of Kalika. I believe I am writing this because she wills so. As the saying goes, everything is the fruit of her desire. We are just her vessels.
That being said, I won't appreciate someone just copying this hard-earned knowledge and writing to start their own book. Learn from this story and engage with me, pour me your knowledgeable too, but don't cross the line. I understand, mystery murders have been done since long. Sherlock Holmes. Agatha Christie. And many more. What I am saying is, do not copy what I am doing. I know I won't be at a position to scream at you then. I won't scream at you at all.
Kalika will.
And with this faith (and caution), read the book.
****
THIS BOOK IS NOT RELATED TO DAUGHTERS OF KALIKA UNIVERSE.
CHARACTER NAMES ARE SIMILAR BUT CHARACTERS AREN'T SAME.
****
After the, uh, unlikeable and horrendous end of a certain character from the universe of Daughters of Kalika, I found many readers wishing for a different storyline for him. I was sure I couldn't redeem him in THAT universe. However, I can TRY to do something here, where although he is a different character altogether, he has the same name.
I do not promise anything, though. This story is going to be more spontaneous than planned.
There will be deeper themes of tantra. Some of them, as you would guess, authentic. While the others I would just call magic and not tantra, since I am not sure of their roots. There will be blood and gore, paranormal stuff. And the charm of Bengal.
With two projects currently ongoing, I had earlier decided to not begin a third. But here I am, giving in to a desire.
So, let's begin.
