Grace nervously shook her leg as the car turned the last corner upon aproaching the church. Although she could see the church from her house it seemed like the car ride took hours. She knew it was just a week, a week she could survive, and maybe even enjoy. How akward could things be? The answer is a lot. The previous year a Braden boy she used to like had been teased, most people he knew were nagging him to have a relationship with her. Everyone said they'd be perfect together and Grace believed them, sadly Braden didn't agree. Things had been so akward between them, and she knew he'd be there.
Other than Braden she had one friend she knew would be there. Rachel. Grace hadn't seen Rachel in months and was excited see her old friend. Everyone else she knew were just merely aquantinces.
After Grace and Brian, her older brother, unloaded all of their luggage, Grace began looking for Rachel. It wasn't too long before Grace spotted her, smiling in her direction. With in minutes of their reunion Braden showed up all exited for the week to come. He quickly jumped in the girls conversation and before Grace could realize it all tension was erased. She was off to good start.
The youth loaded up the busses finnaly headed towards their week at camp. Grace sat next to Rachel, and both girls sat two seats behind Brayden. Dispite the space between the small group of friends they seemed close and talked all the way there. Several timed Grace heard the name Kameron but she didn't know him. She had just moved schools as the others had begun to make so many more new friends. She did not pick up much on Kameron other than the fact that Rachel didn't like him very much, but Rachel didn't like anyone so she just brushed the thought off.
With a new name floating around the air, and friends she hadn't seen in a year, Grace considered staying opened up. Maybe this week could be her game changer. She could become that outgoing, excited, loveable girl she desired to be. The only thing was how long could she keep that up? The bus ride slowly came to end. As they pulled into what would be her home for the next week Grace made her decision, quietly saying "Hello new me"
