Divinity's Call- Random short

The salt breeze fills my lungs as I take in the vast, serene ocean from a cliff that brought me close. Close above the splashing waters. The sun rays gleam across the ocean horizons as it slowly begins to be replaced by the dark blue skies that contrasted against its colors.

It was indeed a lovely sight to watch and behold its turning colors.

But as the lights fades under the cold waters, I could not help but feel a pinch and hold on to my heart. Perhaps I have not come to terms with my situation still. Perhaps I still despise the darkness.

In three minutes, time, the sun will have fallen and the dancing stars in the night would have engulfed the entire sky. And I stand at the cliff's edge, watching with intensity that crawls through my bones as the sun's beacon of light finally dims into nothingness.

A shaky sigh escapes my lips and what followed was a visible cold breath. Autumn was on the rise and the temperatures have already dropped. All I could do to counter the cold was tuck my hood over. It never bothered as much as humans who must bundle themselves in clothes just to keep warm. I only hated what it brings me, reminding me- that I too, was once like them.

The large, cloaked figure takes one last look at the blanket of stars and infinite abyss before pacing down into the forest that looms with darkness, quietly welcoming him in.

A faint light of white glides over his shoulders, and feathers drops down in a trail- fading away before hitting the earth's ground. They whisper giggles that resonated with the wind like gentle chimes as they swept around the cloaked figure with a carefree smile while their face hidden over with a contrasting hood of their own.

When I see them, I am free

When I am with them, I am fearless

When I am by their side, I am theirs

And when we are free, we are loved

Let our story forever be intertwined, let our waltz forever play, let our hearts be tied together, and let our souls soar high out of these chains

What is one without the other?

What are they by themselves?

What are their desires?

"You will never leave me."

"I cannot begin to think of leaving you."

The feathers tips graze the grass as they hover them, looking into the eyes of the other who gazes them with stirring tender in their eyes. Thier's is hidden and their smile opened into a small grin- just before feathers litters the air around them and the light disperse around the cloaked figure.

No longer feeling the scare of the darkness that consumes him all around now, replaced with ease and peace as he awaits the new game for them to play.

"Then, let us go somewhere new. Always remember your vow to me,

My dear

Russian"
