Seashells Fate

AN:Sorry it's not an Y/N story just pretend it's your name instead of maire, if you want.

It was a dark and gloomy night, the wind making the leaves of the trees rustle against the windows of my room, the night rain thumping against the roof. I snug up close to my stuffed animal Cat, her ears on each of my cheeks. Not so long after I dozed off sleeping peacefully. I wake up, it's a nice sunny day with the sun glistening on through my window. I stretch around my arms, swaying my hands dramatically. I get up onto the cold floor and I shiver when my bare feet reach the floor making a chilly expression, not waiting to get an outfit for the day. I was looking through a closet filled to the brim with sweaters since I got cold very easily. Since it was hot, my mother said last night, since she looked at the forecast she knew. I grab an outfit, excited realizing that I've never worn it before. My outfit is a white striped shirt with blue, then some nice jean shorts, they had a pretty design on the back pockets, they were anchors, with white sparkles. I quickly changed, knowing we had plans to go to the beach, I slid my arms through the short sleeved shirt and popped my legs through my pretty shorts, then I was done with an easy zip. I ran to my bathroom inside of my room, sliding towards the frame with a smile on my face with almost sparkling eyes. I slid to the sink, grabbing my toothbrush and also grabbing my toothpaste, opening the cap. I squeezed the last bit of the toothpaste onto my toothbrush, not throwing the tube away because my mom says ‘it's a waste.’ She always gets more out of it somehow? I think to myself. As soon as I shove my toothbrush in my mouth and start humming a tune called disco girl, staring at myself in the mirror, I hear my sister running in the halls of the house as “Breakfast!” was yelled by my mother. I quickly spit out my tooth paste and clean my toothbrush, throwing it back in my tooth brush holder right beside my sink.
I ran downstairs before my sister ate all the food. I slid through the door frame to the dining room seeing plates of food including scrambled and dippy eggs, toast, sausage, and finally saved the best for last “PANCAKES!” I screamed excited, swaying my hands in the air, showing my toothy smile missing one tooth. I quickly sat down as my reaction to the food made everyone chuckle. I take a forkful of pancakes with powdered sugar on top, straight into my mouth, no hesitation. “Mmm this is amazing!” I focus on my food. “As always” I add. “Yea, they're good.” My sister Lynn said with a smile but obviously tired, she stays up late, always, I mean she is 14 years old, while I'm only 10. As I finish my food in an instant, I take a drink of my orange juice with my eyes closed as I do so. “We're going to be heading to the beach, you wanna tag along?” said my mother towards my sister. “No, imma go take a nap.” said my sister as she shrugs carelessly and walks toward her room. My mother also shrugs. My dad walked towards the door to the exit of our house getting ready to leave for work as he shouts. “Bye!” We all did the same as he walked out, closing the door gently after him. “Imma go pack a beach bag.” said my mother as she walked out of the dining room, needing to do the same. I walk upstairs to my room excited to make some friends at the beach. Me and my mom hop in the car going towards the glass shard beach, so it was called. I looked out my window in the back seat fixing my swim suit I had hidden under my clothes. Without me noticing we were at the beach the only reason I knew was because my mother exclaimed “Here! I'll go tan, do whatever.” she said with a slight smile, getting out of the car looking for a spot on the beach for her money towel, it was quite easy, there were no people in sight. So with that I got out of the car and started to explore since I was new in town. I had never seen this beach nor the town, we've only been here in New Jersey for a week if so. I walked around the beach collecting seashells in my hands to later make bracelets until I saw a small wooden paddle boat with paint messily it said “Stan O War” As soon as I saw it, it sparked my attention, I walked towards it spilling some sea shells carelessly. I inspected the little boat with a “Woah” under my breath. Then suddenly two boys came from behind me, the same as my age, one of them tapping my shoulder making me jump a bit and I slightly turn my head. “Hello?” I stuttered a bit nervously. “You like our boat?!” The one who tapped my shoulder asked me, exposing a toothy smile missing a tooth like mine, excited. “Yea i do! Did you guys make it?” I ask curiously and excitedly, tilting my head a bit. “No..” The boy looked at the ground then to me again. “But we did fix it up!” He said, seeming happy again. “That's still super cool!” I exclaim. “Names Maire.” I say with a smile, but one lost toothy smile, I stick out my hand towards both of the boys, hoping to get a shake and their names. “Stanley Pines, and this is my brother Stanford Pines!” He exclaimed, pushing his brother towards me for him to take the shake. I shook his hand with a smile. “Nice to meet you guys!” I said, taking my hand back from Stanford, to turn to Stanley for a shake, he took it strongly. “Same to you! You can call us Ford and Stan for short, because our names can sometimes be a handful!” Stan says excitedly. “A mouthful he means.” Ford says towards me, pushing his glasses to his face. Stan rolls his eyes. “Yea whatever poindexter!” Stan said. I thought to myself that was a nickname for stan to only call ford. “So what were ya doing anyways?” Stan asked curiously but excited. “I'm making bracelets out of seashells!” I hold up my wrist showing a seashell filled bracelet with a cross charm. “Whoa.” They said in sync, and I chuckled at the reaction. “I could make you guys some! I've got two strings left anyway, with a beach filled with seashells!” I say as my eyes glimmer, giving my smile to the boys and pulling out the strings and extra seashells spilling some care free. “You're very talented.” Said Ford pushing his glasses back up to his sunburnt nose, along with his face. They were both sunburnt as could be. I giggle a bit under my breath. “Thanks, if you want a bracelet you guys might wanna help me search for more seashells.” I said looking down at the seashell I had dropped and putting them back in my arms. “OK!” They both exclaimed happily. “Come back here when you find the ones you want.” I said pointing to the seashells before we all parted ways, I put my old seashells and my strings inside the boat, running towards seashells opposite of Ford and Stan hopping to find good ones. After some time of saying ‘whoa’, ‘cool’ and ‘nice!’ I noticed Ford and Stan at the boat. I picked up my last seashell, not one to put on the bracelets which it was far too big. It was one of those shells that you can hear the ocean in, from your ear. I stumble while I walk back to the boat because my body is getting a bit sunburnt. “Hey! We found the shells we wanted!” Said Stan next to Ford, sitting and leaning on the boards of the boat holding my old shells and strings. I plopped down and sat in front of them crossing my legs. “Alright I just have to poke little holes on them so they can stay put on the bracelet.” I say with a closed smile, digging into my pocket pulling out three screws. I pick up one of my old shells to demonstrate how I would do it, handing them each a screw. “So you just gotta..” I say, sticking a tiny hole on the top of the shell, big enough for the string. “Tada!” I hold up my shell with a proud and confident grin. The boys start doing that with all their shells. After each shell was put down I would stick their shells on their own strings each, putting a cross charm on each bracelet. “All done!” I exclaim sliding the bracelets carefully one each the boys hands. “We should totally hang out more!” Stan says nudging Ford to also say something in return. “Um.. Yeah for sure! It would be fun!” Ford stutters, but ends with a friendly smile. “I would love to!” I say, letting go of each of the boy’s wrist after fixing their bracelets to their liking. After a few hours of exploring the beach, along with a cool cave the boys had found, they had to go home due to dinner after they heard their mother shout for them. “Oh. well that's our cue!” Said Stan waving and smiling. Ford nods. “Yep our cue.” He says with a shy smile. I bring them into a tight embrace of a hug. “Bye, hopefully we can hang out again sometime soon!” I say pulling back from the hug still in front of the boys. “Most definitely.” Ford says. Both the boys race towards their house waving me off, as I do the same. “Maire!” I heard my mom calling me, I ran towards her seeing her pack up in the car. “Did you have fun?” She asks curiously, tilting her head. “Yea! I made some friends!..Though I forgot to swim.” I chuckle at the last part. We hop in the car in the back, pulling my seatbelt to my chest with a ‘click.’ “Ok so about my new friends!” I say happily to my mom, ranting about the two boys I had met earlier on the car ride home. As we make it to the house, we are still in the car. “I think I'm starting to like this place.” I say relieved and happy making my way behind my mom inside the house to enjoy the last bits of the shimmering day.
