Beige stared down Agent as her heart sank. She had absolutely nowhere to run. Oh shit oh fuck. What was he doing here??
Of all the places she chose to get a job, what are the chances he would be here??
"So.. how'd you do it?" He spoke, as Beige finally snapped back into reality.
"How'd you get out? The horrors you did to that man should've locked you up for the rest of your life." He said.
She was completely silent for a minute, her lip trembling. She finally spoke.
"I-I didn't do anything—"
"Don't fucking lie to me, Beige." He spoke.
".. I-I faked insanity." She said straight up. Agent's eyes widened.
"Huh. I see." He said. "Intresting. Well.. your secrets safe with me." He spoke, handing her her bag.
"That is.. as long as you stay on my good side. Which so far, you're achieving." He smirked before walking towards the break room. "Don't fall too far behind. You can get lost in this place." He said as Beige quickly caught up.
As the two made their way back into the room, Beige sat down at the back round table, next to Hazard.
She couldn't help but notice his concentration, as the clicking of the keyboard was right in her ear. Eventually, curiosity got the better of her as she snuck a small peek over his shoulder. Hm.. seems like some kind of code..?
That's when slam! The laptop had been shut immediately as Hazard sat there completely still.
"O-oh! I'm sorry- I was- I was just—"
"Hazard." Shady perks up. "The new girl giving you issues?" He asked in almost a threatening way as Hazard looked at Beige before shaking his head no.
Beige looked at him and blinked a few times. Hazard then pulled out his tablet and began typing on it. He then showed it to Beige.
"You're new right?" It said. Beige looked at him with a smile. "Yeah. I am." She nodded as she watched him go back on the tablet. While doing so tho, Ballista happened to come over and sit at the table with the two.
"Ooooh, I see Hazard's already getting comfy with the new gal." Ballista cooed. Hazard playfully rolled his eyes.
"Sooo.. New girl.—"
"Beige,"
"Beige." Ballista smirked. "Front desk worker, eh? Seems like alot of work." He giggled.
"Well.. it was the only option available at the time." She spoke. "Plus I don't think I can really do much else with my disability."
"Ohhh.." Ballista said. "Your leg is broken?"
"No. I was born with a birth defect." Beige spoke. "The joints in my legs never developed properly and so, I need assistance when standing up." Ballista looked at Beige, then peeks his head under the table at her legs.
"Huh. If I had the strength, I'd carry you around."
"W-wha-" Beige spoke.
"Ooh wait, yo Shades!!" Ballista shouted. Agent looked up from his sandwich and raised an eyebrow. "The new girl can't walk. Maybe you can carry her to her desk!!"
"If she needs assistance, she can ask me myself and I'd be more than happy to assist her there." He spoke.
"A— n-nO! That's uh- I'm fine, I'm fine." Beige said. "But uh- thanks anyways."
"Oooh, we should totally hang out sometime! Me and Hazard know some pretty neat spots!" Ballista said, sliding his phone across the table towards her. She looked at it a little. The lockscreen was a photo of him and Hazard hugging. He had a really nice gummy-like light blue case that had two bunny ears at the top.
"Uh— just, put in your number." Ballista nervously said.
"Oh! Right!" Beige spoke. "Uh. It's locked."
"Oh fuck right-" Ballista reached his hand out, grabbing the phone and pulling down his mask to unlock it with facial recognition, then sliding it back over to her and putting up his mask.
Beige soon went to his contacts. There were a couple people listed.
Slut.. Shady Lady.. Hazard(🩷).. The boss man.. she pretty much could figure out who some of these people were. But then, there were some people she didn't know.
Tealface.. annoying bitch.. mama(💀) and baba(💀)
Wonder what those skull emojis were for.. anyways, it wasn't her business to snoop around his phone.
So, she put in her number before handing the phon back to Ballista.
"Alright. Im going to add you to the group chat. It's just me, Hazard, Primal, and Shady. We're kinda close pals." He snickered.
"We're work colleagues and nothing more." Agent spoke. Ballista smiled and whispered to Beige.
"He doesn't want to admit it." He said as Beige let out a quiet giggle.
"Ooh I know! To celebrate your first day here, we should have a sleepover!" Ballista smirked.
"A.. A sleepover?" Beige turned her head. "Isn't that a bit.."
"Childish? Psh, no. We have sleepovers all the time, are you kidding??" Ballista chuckled, before standing up. "Hey Shady Lady! You wanna have another sleep over? Your place, tonight at 6pm." Ballista said. Agent lifted his head and looked at Ballista.
"Hm. Sure." He simply spoke. Ballista turned to Beige with a proud expression on his face.
"You're coming too, new stuff." Ballista smirked.
"A-oh really?" Beige asked, as Ballista nodded. "Bring some jammies, snacks and a bathing suit cuz we're going to have so much fun!!"
Beige nodded as lunch break ended. The gang spent the rest of the day chatting and joking around.
As everyone else exited the room at the end of the day, Beige stood up and noticed Agent was still sat down in his chair, reading. She walked over with her crutches.
"Are you staying late?" She asked as he nodded. "Boss needed help so I'm going to stay an extra hour."
She nodded making her way to the door.
"Beige." Agent said, as she turned towards him.
"Yea?"
"Uhm." He sighed. "You did good today, kid."
"Oh uh— thanks." She said, turning to leave but then a question crosse her mind. Maybe she should ask.
"Hey Agent uh.." She asked As he looked at her. "You're not.. Gonna try and arrest me again, right?"
It seemed the question caught Agent off guard as he kind of sat there for a minute.
"Hmm. With the rate you're going, I doubt it.. not that I have any actual authority to arrest you anymore anyways. But, I can see you're clearly trying to turn your life around. So, you had a good first day. I'll see you in a couple hours." He said.
Beige gave a smile. As she began to exit the room, she caught Victim at the front doors of the building.
"Well? How was your first day, Beige?" He asked.
"It was great!" She smiled. And it sure was.
