3rd person pov
Godzilla paused, his massive body looming over Gila's sinking form, and for the first time in ages, he felt something other than pure instinct guiding him.
The faint beat of her heart was a sign of life, but the scent that filled the water around her was something else—distinct, unique.
He realized then that the titan lying helpless before him was female.
A flicker of emotion—something unfamiliar—crossed Godzilla’s ancient mind.
If titans could blush, his dark, reptilian features might have reddened slightly. But there was no time for distractions.
Shaking off the strange sensation, he focused on the task at hand.
Gila was still vulnerable, still bleeding, and the humans were closing in.
Godzilla moved carefully, his massive claws wrapping around her battered form.
Her body was heavy, but not too much for the King of the Monsters to bear.
With a powerful kick of his tail, he began to swim, cradling Gila in his claws as he made his way toward his underwater temple—a hidden sanctuary deep beneath the ocean floor.
It was a place where he could rest, and for now, it would serve as a refuge for her too.
As the waters darkened around them, the faint glow of Godzilla's dorsal spines lit the way, guiding them both to safety.
Once they were inside the sanctuary of the underwater temple, Godzilla gently laid Gila down, the dim light from the ocean's depths casting an ethereal glow across the ancient stone structures.
The temple, hidden from the eyes of humans and untouched by time, radiated a quiet power—safe from the constant pursuit of mankind and the threats of the surface world.
Gila stirred, her body aching as her senses slowly returned.
The pain in her wounds was still present, but the immediate danger had passed.
Blinking groggily, she became aware of her surroundings—the strange, quiet peace of the temple and the enormous figure standing over her.
She lifted her head slightly, taking in the sight of Godzilla’s towering form.
His eyes, glowing faintly in the darkness, looked down at her with an intensity that held no malice.
For a moment, she didn’t recognize where she was or why she was still alive.
Gila let's out a whimper that was hoarse, laced with pain and confusion as she struggled to understand her situation.
Godzilla lowered his head slightly, his gaze meeting hers.
He didn’t speak—his kind rarely communicated through words—but the rumble in his chest conveyed a sense of calm.
She was no longer in danger, at least not here.
Though still wary, he had brought her to his sanctuary, where no harm would come to her.
The message was clear: She was safe, for now.
Gila nodded weakly, her battered body succumbing to the weight of exhaustion.
Her eyelids grew heavy, and despite the pain still coursing through her, a strange sense of comfort settled over her.
She had been prepared to face death, but instead, she found herself in the care of the very creature her species had once viewed as a rival titan species.
As her consciousness began to fade, a newfound feeling blossomed within her—a mix of gratitude and respect.
Though no words had passed between them, an unspoken bond had been forged, born from survival and the shared struggle of being hunted by the world above.
In the quiet depths of the ocean, in the safety of Godzilla's sanctuary, she felt a connection she hadn't expected.
With a final glance at the towering titan beside her, Gila drifted into unconsciousness, her heartbeats steadying as the deep waters of the temple cradled them both in silence.

Back in the destroyed city, the enormous figure of Abrianna, a massive female gorilla with dark, matted fur, lay among the rubble, her body heavily injured from the brutal battle.
Her fur, thick and rough, was caked with dust and blood, and her limbs trembled as she struggled to remain conscious.
She was as large as Gila, her towering form now bent and broken, but her resolve hadn't faltered.
Abrianna's pov
I opened my eyes slowly, the haze of pain clouding my vision as I forced myself to move.
My body screamed at me to stay down, to surrender to the agony, but I refused.
With a growl of determination, I pushed past the pain, every inch of my body protesting as I struggled to stand.
It took everything I had to get to my feet, my legs buckling beneath me as I staggered forward, each step a battle of its own.
Ignoring the tiny humans shooting at me, their bullets harmlessly bouncing off my thick hide, I limped toward the mountains.
I could still feel the weight of the dorsal plates I had torn from that cursed lizard's back—I had it slung across my shoulder like a trophy.
Carrying them was a reminder of my victory, but it did nothing to ease the pain searing through my body.
Twice, I nearly collapsed. My legs gave out more than once, but I refused to fall.
I kept moving, dragging my wounded body up the path toward the distant mountains. I had to get away.
I needed to rest, to heal, to regroup before those little humans could catch up.
Just as I neared the base of a mountain, my strength finally failed me.
My legs crumpled beneath me, and I fell hard onto the ground, the last of my energy drained.
My vision blurred, but in the distance, I could make out the forms of humans approaching.
They were closing in on me, their weapons drawn, but I didn’t have the strength to fight them off.
With a low growl, I succumbed to the exhaustion, the world fading to black as I passed out.
