(violet's outfit for this part of the chapter)
Violet found out that CJ and Steve didn't end up getting married and that Matt had asked DJ to marry him but she said no. And it was all because DJ and Steve realized they still had feelings for each other. Violet couldn't believe how much they missed out on while they were gone and she felt bad for missing the wedding. Though it turns out there wasn't a wedding to miss anyway.
But summer was ending too fast and the beginning of freshmen year of high school was just around the corner. Violet was nervous and anxious about the first day.
She was in her room with Jackson, sitting on her bed, watching a movie on her laptop. He had his arm wrapped around her and she rested her head on his shoulder, her arm resting on his stomach. His fingers lightly traced circles on her arm, causing goosebumps to appear. She sighed contently.
"Summer's ending." She murmurs. "It feels like it's been so short."
"It has. I can't believe we're starting high school. I'm really excited." Jackson replies, smiling. "Kinda nervous. But I'm sure we'll have lots of fun."
"Yeah. You're gonna play on the football team, right? You're gonna have so much fun." Violet says, smiling. "I'm not sure if I'll join any clubs yet, though." She admits with a shrug. "Maybe band. I'll have to think about it."
"I'm sure you would be great at band. You're so talented. I mean, your songs have been really popular lately. I think it helps you got your songs out on Spotify." Jackson said, making her blush. "You're amazing. I don't know why you still doubt yourself."
Violet shrugs, smiling. "Thanks, babe. But I still have a long way to go before I can really say I'm a musician." She points out. "Maybe one day."
"One day, you'll be a big star." Jackson tells her. "You'll be so famous. People will know who you are. I'll get to brag to everyone my girlfriend is the famous Violet Sullivan." He teased.
"Shut up." She lightly punches him. "I could never be that famous." Her face flushed, flattered by his praise. It meant a lot to her he thought she was going to be a famous musician.
"I bet you will." He grinned, reaching up to cup her face and leaned in to kiss her. She smiled against his lips, her hand moving up to cup his face. Every time they kissed, she felt butterflies. She didn't know if she'd ever get over that feeling. She hoped she never would.
Jackson felt his heart race when she cupped his face. He leaned into her touch. Kissing her always felt like fireworks, he didn't know how else to explain it. He had never experienced something like this with anyone before. He could only imagine what his future would be like with her. He had a good feeling it would be amazing.
Violet smiles when they pulled apart, both breathing a bit heavy. She laid her head back on his shoulder, his arm wrapping back around her. They cuddle in a comfortable silence, the only noise coming from the movie playing.
