there are SO many trigger warnings in this book so PLEASE be careful i will do my best to put warnings before descriptions or flashbacks of triggering things but there will be triggering things mentioned briefly that won't have warnings before it.
if the triggering sections involves things critical to the plot i will but a summary of the critical information in the author note at the end of the chapter for those who do not want to read the sections.
that includes the flashbacks and sex scenes along with everything else
some of the triggers that I'm planning on being apart of the book are:
self harm: mostly cutting but other types may be mentioned
suicidal thoughts
extreme self hatred (idk if that needs a warning but here it is if it need one)
SA, pedophilia, memories of child abuse, these will mostly be in flashback form but a few SA attempts will happen in present tense.
toxic masculinity (basically a guy telling himself that expressing emotions makes him weak and pathetic which is NOT TRUE crying is good for the soul)
body image issues and unhealthy ways to "fix" those issues (e.g. eating disorder behaviors or excessive exercise)
homophobia there will be the f slur but it will be written as f****t usually (i will try to always write it that way but i might accidentally actually write it out sometimes so be prepared if that triggers you)
there will also be homophobic statements but please remember I'm NOT homophobic (that'd be hypocritical lol) it's just the character's thoughts not mine! i hate adding homophobia but it wouldn't be realistic if everyone loved gay people in this book.
sex scenes: THEY WILL ALL BE GAY BETWEEN CONSENTING ADULT MEN SO IF GAY SEX OR MXM SEX ISN'T YOUR THING i will write them in varying degrees of explicitness and put a warning before with how explicit its gonna be
here's the different "levels" I'm gonna use based on how much i leave up for you to imagine.
heavily implied—i hint at what's happened but there's very few actual descriptions of what's happening just how they feel and it'll cut off before anything extremely R rated happens
blow job— pretty self explanatory i put details about oral stuff but that's either all that happens or it cuts out before anything further happens
they fuck— i put as many details as i want and it will probably be longer than other sex scenes because it'll be from start to them finishing (literally😂)
soooo yeah i will just put the bold words in the warning before sex scenes so you'll have to refer back to this if you care.
