Peter Pan:
I could feel her magic pulse throughout the island towards me. It seemed that now that we had met and she had connected to my thoughts, I was even more sensitive to her and her actions. Each time I felt the wave of magic hit me, I would wait to see if there was any backlash from the island, just in case the power caused a destructive reaction. Nothing ever came. Then a moment happened where her magic laid dormant and there was no more sign of her. At that point I couldn't stop myself from flying over to investigate, my excuse I told myself was that I was concerned for the humans' safety.
I couldn't fathom what occurred to lead to the scene I witnessed through the window of Hook's cabin. A small, beautiful woman lay curled up in his arms on the bed. I watched his chest rise and fall, noting that he was fast asleep. When I looked back at the girl, a pair of white eyes were watching me carefully. I startled back at the sight of the intense gaze and swore softly under my breath. I hadn't realized it was the shadow, she appeared so differently from Wendy's natural beauty. Once again, the thought of Wendy transformed her appearance. She looked down at herself and frowned but slid off the bed and padded over to me quietly. She opened the window and looked face to face with me, warmth radiated from her.
"Hello, Wendy."
My voice was whispered, wariness lacing my voice at the hulking, sleeping figure on the bed.
"My name isn't Wendy, it's Belladonna."
Her voice matched my volume but hers felt more like concern for the sleeping pirate captain. Once again, I was caught off guard and she tilted her head as if sensing that emotion as well. Belladonna was not what I had expected. I didn't even realize she would have chosen a name already, it had only been half a day since the morning when they encountered each other. Such a unique name for such an unnatural creature.
I got the distinct feeling that this had happened before, where secrets and time were shared and I was left behind with my jealousy. When Wendy was kidnapped, she gained Hook's favor and he gained hers. I would always ask about her time with him and I never got a satisfactory answer.
"I'm sorry, Belladonna. It suits you, that name."
"Thank you. Hook helped me choose it, and Smee. I have my physical form as well, but it seems your thoughts overpower my preference."
That explained the frown on her face. She made it sound like it was my choice for her to look this way. I tried to think of the form she was in before and realized the name synchronized well. Then she changed once again, back to the short and thicker female with the shiny purple hair.
"This one does look better on you. You seem more...magic."
The dress was what caught my eye the most. It was a traditional fairy style but the black color was not often seen on fairies. They were normally bright and colorful creatures, after all. While admiring the dress, there was a faint tinkling sound and wings appeared on her back. Again that unique black color adorned them but they had the same glittery translucence as Tink's. The wings fluttered and she was up in the air, hovering for a minute and gently landing. The wings disappeared and I realized she had just done that to show off.
"I am not a fairy. However, I have taken a liking to their style. When I first left the lagoon, it was the sirens that I was replicating the most until I saw them. It was your fairy friend that I saw first, but my appearance was a mer-kind so she didn't notice me. I did that every time you searched for me, changed my appearance into someone common."
There was a glint in her eyes that reminded me of a child causing trouble and mischief. She still refused to smile at me but at least those eyes looked at me again. I didn't realize that not seeing them would cause me worry.
