The first sign

It was your first day of Fourth grade.

You slumped down the hallway with your (f/c) backpack filled to the brim with new school supplies.

You groaned as your feet dragged across the dirty tile floor.

Suddenly a almost bald boy came running down the hallway.

"Hey new girl!"

He shouted as he ran past you.

"H-hi?"

You said in confusion.

Soon another chubby kid ran down the hallway.

"Hi new girl!"

He said.

"Hi."

Then finally a square headed boy calmly walked down the hallway.

"Hello new girl. I apologize for my friends. If you are looking for Mrs. Bakers class it's this way."

You shrugged and followed him down the hall.

He smiled at you.

" My name is Jeffery but you can just call me Jeff."

You smiled back.

" I'm (y/n). How does everyone know I'm new?"

You asked.

Jeff laughed.

"Because no one buys that many school supplies around here."

You blushed.

"Oh..."

He nodded.

"It's a common mistake made by all new students."

The nearly bald boy came running back down the hallway towards you and Jeff.

"Sumo? What are yo-"

Sumo cut Jeff off and grabbed your arm.

"C'mon new girl! To class!"

He yelled dragging you down the hall making you run.

"H-hey! Wait up!"

Jeff yelled and ran behind you two.

You turned a corned and we're dragged inside a classroom.

"Uhhh.. oh yeah! This is the classroom."

The chubby kid smiled and waved at you and Sumo.

Jeff finally caught up and pushed you two to your seats.

"Come on Sumo! We're going to be marked tardy if we're not in our seats!"

Sumo stuck his tounge out.

"Who cares about some stupid tardy anyway."

Jeff grumbled.

Once you were seated a very tired looking Ms. Baker wandered into the classroom.

She sighed before saying hello to the class.

She looked at you and directed you to the front of the class.

"Alright class. This is (y/n). She's new."

Everyone either waved, said hello, or did nothing.

Then she pushed you back to your seat.

Sumo was staring at the back of your head since you had gotten into the classroom.

He snickered and ripped a tiny bit of paper out from his binder.

He then wrote a small note and folded it in half before passing it to the chubby kid.

"Ppsssssttt! Clarence."

He said before handing him the note.

Clarence opened the note and read aloud,

"I think I like the new girl."

Sumo shushed Clarence and looked around nervously to see if anyone noticed Clarence talking.

Luckily no one did.

Sumo sighed before snaching the piece of paper back from Clarence and eating it.

" Um Sumo? Uh who's da new girl?"

He asked.

Sumo,who was still chewing the note up, pointed to the back of your head.

Clarence made fake binoculars with his hands.

"Oooooohhhh her! Yeah. Okay. I know her."

He smiled at Sumo.

He swallowed the note.

Clarence 's smile grew wider.

Sumo glared at him.

"You like her. Don't you Sumo?"

Sumo threw his hands in the air.

"That's what the note said! "

Everyone turned around to look at Sumo.

He crossed his arms and slumped down in his chair.

Little did he know a certain Square - headed boy also had the same feelings for the same new girl.
