My pen tapped against my paper while I looked out the coloured window, it was 3:30 and Eren still hasn't made his appearance ticking me off with every minute that passed.

I sighed while closing my notebook once it hit 3:45, what a waste of time.

"I'm here, I'm here" and there he was, looking slightly disheveled, two coffees in his hand making my frown deeper, "sorry the line was long" he slid into his seat and set down one of the coffees in front of me.

"I don't drink black coffee" I said while contemplating leaving or not.

He looked amused "good thing it's your usual order you get here" I scrunched my eyebrows, confused, "I asked the barista downstairs to make your usual, I assumed you come here a lot and turns out I'm right"

I hummed while sitting in my seat more comfortable, and opened my notebook " okay, so
Open your textbook to the chapter you're on now"

He complied but not without saying "down to business I see"

I raised an eyebrow "I'm here to tutor not converse"

"We can do both"

"No, we can't"

He hummed and leaned back in his seat, his black long sleeve rolled up to his elbows "How about a deal?"

"I don't think so"

"With every question I get right we have a conversation after" he said automatically back

I tilted my head at him "Why so insistent on talking with me?"

He copied my head movement "Because I find you interesting" he said cleanly.

"Yeah, and why's that?"

He shrugged while sipping his coffee "Dunno, you have a vibe"

A vibe? Seriously.

"Mhm that's cool and all but let get to studying"

He let it go while I looked over his chapter quickly, basic problems for a fourth year student, it wouldn't be to hard to teach him this. I asked him questions about the chapter and he seemed to know almost everything making me move on to some problems, he got the formula right but lacked in the final answer.

after awhile of me explaining how to actually solve with the formulas he seemed to know perfectly he started to get it, a fast learner.

"So are you from paradis?" He asked after getting his third question right making me humor him

"Yes I was born here"

He nodded "So you've been here your whole life?" He asked looking genuinely interested.

"Maybe answer five more questions correct and I'll answer that"

He nodded, determined for whatever reason. While we went through more I found how easy it was to talk to him even if we were only talking about physics, our conversation moved swiftly, I asked him questions and he answered with fluency.

After his fifth problem he placed down his pen making me sigh and lean back, he looked at me expectantly, "I moved when I was 10 came back at 18"

"Why'd you move?"

"Why so many questions?" His question touched to close to home making me glance at the time 6:15 it would be time to go soon, "let's do some more follow up questions and we'll be done for today" I moved on from the subject which he thankfully allowed.

Right in the middle of me showing him how to do a problem he grabbed my hand holding the pencil making me jerk back, I didn't do good with people touching me unexpectedly "what happened to your hands?" I saw how he was looking at the small scars littered around my hand, they were faded but looking hard enough you could see them.
