George's heart pounded with excitement as he stepped onto the big university campus. The place was full of energy, so different from the quiet halls of his high school. Today was the start of a new chapter in his life, and he was eager to see what it would bring. Orientation was full of busy students, campus tours, and the chance to make new friends.
In all the chatter and introductions, one name kept coming up: Dream. People whispered about him, his reputation already known. George couldn't help but feel curious. Dream was described as distant and mysterious. That curiosity grew, and George decided he wanted to find out more about this person.
After orientation ended, George explored the campus. He wandered through the courtyard, soaking in the lively atmosphere. Then, he saw Dream standing by himself, staring off into the distance. Dream's tall, slim figure and the way he seemed separate from everyone else made him stand out.
Taking a deep breath, George walked over to Dream with a friendly smile."Hey!" George said, trying to sound cheerful. "I'm George. I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself."
Dream turned toward him, his expression hard to read. He barely made eye contact, his voice cold. "Hello."
George held out his hand, still smiling. "Nice to meet you! I've heard a lot about you. Maybe we could grab a coffee sometime?"
Dream glanced at George's hand but didn't shake it. "I'm not really into socializing," he replied shortly.George's smile faltered for a second but quickly returned. "That's okay! Just thought I'd ask. No pressure."
Dream turned back to the horizon, clearly done with the conversation. "Yeah, maybe another time."With that, Dream walked away, leaving George standing there with his hand still out. George's face turned red, but he stayed positive. He gave a small wave and walked off, determined not to let the rejection get him down.
As George headed back to his dorm, he kept thinking about the encounter. Dream's coldness felt like a challenge, but George's natural optimism made him believe there was more to Dream. He wasn't discouraged and decided he would try again.
Over the next few days, George was busy with university life. Even with all the new experiences, he couldn't stop thinking about Dream. The more he heard about Dream's reputation, the more curious he became. George's friendly nature pushed him to break through Dream's icy behavior.
In one of his classes, George found out he was in a group project with Dream. The first meeting was awkward. Dream spoke very little and seemed uninterested in working with the group. George tried to include him in the conversation, but Dream stayed distant."Hey, Dream," George said, trying to sound relaxed, "Do you have any ideas for this part of the project?"
Dream barely looked at him. "Not really."George pressed on. "Well, we could really use your thoughts. Maybe we could work on it together?"Dream didn't budge. "I'm fine doing my part alone."George stayed positive. "Alright, let me know if you change your mind."
Despite George's efforts, Dream remained unapproachable. The project meetings were uncomfortable, with Dream only speaking when he had to. George kept trying, but Dream wasn't interested.
One afternoon, George saw Dream sitting alone in a campus café. He thought it was another chance to connect. With a smile, George walked over."Mind if I sit with you?" George asked.
Dream looked up, clearly annoyed. "It's a free campus. Sit wherever you want."George sat down across from Dream, undeterred. "I thought it'd be nice to talk outside of class. Maybe we could discuss the project or just chat."
Dream's tone was cold. "I'm busy."George kept his voice upbeat. "No worries. I'll let you get back to it."Dream gave a small nod and went back to his work. George left the café feeling a little sad but still determined. He believed that if he kept trying, he could eventually break through Dream's walls.
That evening, back in his dorm, George thought about all his attempts to connect with Dream. The constant rejections were tough, but his optimism kept him going. He was convinced Dream's cold behavior was a defense, hiding something deeper. George made up his mind to keep trying, believing that kindness and patience would eventually pay off.As the weeks went by, George continued to show small acts of friendliness toward Dream.
He invited Dream to different campus events and always tried to include him in conversations when they crossed paths. Dream stayed distant, but George was determined.
Even though Dream still didn't seem interested, George didn't give up. He knew it would take time, but he was willing to be patient. For George, the challenge made the journey worthwhile, and he was ready to keep going with kindness and determination.
