The weekend arrived, and campus was buzzing about a big party being thrown by Sapnap, one of Dream's closest friends. George had heard about it from a few classmates and was surprised to learn that Dream might be there. It seemed like a good chance to see Dream in a different setting, away from the classroom and their usual awkward interactions.

That evening, George decided to go. As he entered the party, the room was alive with music, laughter, and the chatter of students having a good time. George felt a bit nervous, but he reminded himself that this was just another chance to connect with people—and maybe even with Dream.

As George made his way through the crowd, he finally spotted Dream. He was leaning against the wall, looking as distant as ever, his expression blank as he watched the others dance and talk. Sapnap was nearby, chatting with a few friends, but Dream didn't seem to be joining in.

George took a deep breath. This was it—another chance. He approached Dream with his usual smile, hoping this time would be different.

"Hey, Dream," George said, his voice light. "Didn't expect to see you here."

Dream looked at him, his face unreadable. "Sapnap dragged me along," he replied, his tone as cold as ever. "I'm not really into parties."

George nodded, keeping the mood friendly. "Yeah, I get that. Sometimes they're a bit too much. But it's nice to hang out, right?"

Dream didn't respond right away, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for an escape. "I guess," he finally said, his voice flat.

George didn't give up. "Sapnap seems like a cool guy. You've known him for a while?"

"Yeah," Dream answered shortly, not offering more.

An awkward silence hung between them for a moment. George could feel the tension, but he wasn't ready to walk away just yet. "I'm glad I came," George said, trying to lighten the mood again. "It's a nice break from all the schoolwork."

Dream's expression didn't change, but after a few seconds, he sighed. "If you like this kind of thing."

George was about to respond when Sapnap suddenly appeared beside them, a wide grin on his face. "Hey, George!" he said, giving him a friendly slap on the back. "Glad you could make it! You've met Dream, right?"

George nodded. "Yeah, we're in the same class."

Sapnap laughed. "Dream's not much of a party guy, but I'm trying to get him to have some fun." He turned to Dream, nudging him. "Come on, man, at least try to enjoy yourself."

Dream looked uncomfortable but didn't say anything. George took the chance to step in. "Maybe we could all hang out for a bit? Just talk or something. No pressure to party hard," he said with a small chuckle.

Sapnap grinned. "Sure! Sounds good to me."

Dream, however, didn't seem thrilled by the idea. "I'm fine where I am," he muttered, his eyes avoiding both George and Sapnap.

George stayed positive, even though it felt like he was hitting the same wall over and over. "No worries," he said. "I'll be around if you change your mind."

Sapnap gave George an apologetic look. "Don't mind him. He's always like this. I'm just glad you're here, man."

With that, Sapnap was pulled away by another friend, leaving George and Dream standing together in silence once again. Dream looked like he wanted to disappear, but George wasn't about to let the awkwardness stop him.

"Anyway, if you ever want to take a break from the party, I'm here," George said with a friendly smile. "Maybe we could chat more later."

Dream didn't reply, his gaze fixed on the crowd. George waited for a moment longer before giving a small nod and walking away, not wanting to push too hard.

As George mingled with other people, he couldn't help but glance at Dream every now and then. Dream stayed by the wall, never joining in, never speaking much. But even so, George didn't feel defeated. He knew Dream's coldness wasn't personal. It was just part of who Dream was. George had learned that by now. Still, something about Dream drew him in, and he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more beneath that icy surface.

As the night went on, George decided to step outside for some fresh air. The backyard was quieter, with a few small groups scattered around, chatting or relaxing. To his surprise, Dream was already there, sitting alone on a bench, staring up at the stars.

Taking a deep breath, George walked over and sat down a few feet away, giving Dream some space. "Needed a break too, huh?" he said softly, not wanting to intrude.

Dream didn't look at him but nodded slightly. "Too loud inside."

George smiled. "Yeah, it gets pretty intense. Sometimes it's nice to just be somewhere quiet."

For a while, they sat in silence, the night air cool around them. George didn't feel the usual tension this time. Maybe it was because they weren't surrounded by people, or maybe Dream was just tired of keeping up the cold front.

"I didn't think you'd come to a party," George said after a while, keeping his tone casual. "You don't seem like the type."

Dream finally looked at him, his expression unreadable. "I'm not."

George nodded, letting the conversation hang in the air. He didn't push for more, didn't try to force a connection this time. Instead, he let the quiet moments stretch between them, figuring that maybe, just maybe, Dream would open up a little on his own.

After what felt like ages, Dream spoke again, his voice soft. "I only came because Sapnap wouldn't leave me alone about it."

George chuckled. "Sounds like something Sapnap would do. He seems like a fun guy, though."

Dream didn't respond, but he didn't look as closed off anymore either. George took that as a small victory. Even if Dream wasn't saying much, the fact that he was still sitting there, not walking away, felt like progress.
