The bedroom was a sanctuary of understated elegance, bathed in the soft glow of evening light filtering through the sheer curtains. Choi Jeong Eun stood in front of the full-length mirror, her movements deliberate as she adjusted a pair of delicate earrings. Her reflection revealed a woman who exuded grace, but her eyes betrayed a deep unease.

Her mind was miles away, lost in thoughts that seemed to weigh heavily on her. The room's serene ambiance contrasted sharply with the turmoil she felt inside. The sound of the bedroom door opening made her start slightly, and she turned to see Heo Joon Jae entering, his demeanor relaxed but attentive.

Without a word, Joon Jae approached and wrapped his arms around Jeong Eun in a gentle embrace. He nuzzled her neck, placing a soft kiss on her shoulder. "You seem lost in thought," he said, his voice a soothing murmur. "Is everything okay?"

Jeong Eun turned slightly, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm fine," she reassured him, her tone steady but lacking its usual warmth. "Just thinking about the party and some things I need to sort out."

Joon Jae smiled back, his concern giving way to a more relaxed expression. "I'll go change out of this suit. Join me for a drink later?" he asked, his voice light and casual.

"Of course," Jeong Eun replied, nodding as he walked toward the adjoining dressing room. As he left, she took a deep breath and turned back to the mirror, trying to calm the unsettling thoughts that had been plaguing her.

As she stared at her reflection, a flashback of the previous evening's party came rushing back. She saw herself standing on the periphery of the crowd, her gaze fixed on Joon Jae. He was engaged in an animated conversation with a figure shrouded in shadows, a woman whose face was hidden and whose presence seemed to captivate Joon Jae entirely.

Jeong Eun remembered the tension in her chest as she watched them. The mysterious figure's body language was intimate, their conversation too engrossing, and Joon Jae's focus on her was unsettling. The memory of her own discomfort—the way she had tried to read their interaction, the pang of unease—flashed vividly in her mind.

The image faded, and Jeong Eun found herself back in the present, her reflection staring back at her with a mix of confusion and concern. She took another deep breath, trying to push away the lingering feeling of suspicion.

The sound of Joon Jae's footsteps approaching pulled her from her reverie. She forced a smile as he reappeared, now dressed more casually. "Ready for that drink?" he asked, his expression warm and inviting.

Jeong Eun smiles "Let me change" she gets up and leave to change.

The evening air was crisp and refreshing as Jeong Eun and Joon Jae stepped out onto the balcony. The city lights twinkled below, casting a serene glow over the expansive view. Joon Jae poured two flutes of champagne and handed one to Jeong Eun, his touch warm and reassuring.

They stood side by side, the gentle clink of their glasses punctuating the quiet moment. Jeong Eun sipped her champagne slowly, her gaze distant. The beauty of the night did little to ease the tension that knotted in her chest.

Noticing her discomfort, Joon Jae turned to her, his brow furrowed with concern. "You seem off tonight. Are you sure you're okay?"

Jeong Eun forced a small, weary smile. "I'm just tired," she replied, her voice betraying a hint of the exhaustion she felt. "It's been a long day."

Joon Jae's expression softened as he reached out to cup her cheek gently. "You're working too hard," he said tenderly. "Let's make sure you relax."

He leaned in and kissed her deeply, his touch tender and affectionate. The kiss was meant to be comforting, but Jeong Eun couldn't fully embrace it, her mind still troubled by the events of the previous night. She felt a mix of conflicting emotions—love, doubt, and a sense of betrayal.
