Chapter 2

"Morgana!!! I'm Home!" It had been 4 months since the miscarriage. "Hey." I said, with a smile. "How are you feeling?" "I'm okay... But... Can we talk???" "Of course." He sat his cloak on the table, before coming over to me. "What's going on?" I sat on the bed, patting the spot next to me. "Are you alright?? You are making me nervous." I said "Oh. Gosh! I did not mean for you to be made nervous! I just... I was at Gaius's today..." "Okay, now I'm growing more nervous." Merlin said, placing a hand on my knee. "Please. Tell me." Merlin whispered. "Okay... Well... I have been feeling so poorly, and this morning I realized I was late... so that's what prompted me to go. But don't worry I'm okay... and so is the baby..."

"What baby?" He asked. "I'm pregnant." "Darling..." We made love a month after the miscarriage. "How far along?" Merlin asked. "About 3 months along... I hadn't really noticed any symptom till maybe the last week..." "Did Gaius say why that was?" He asked. "He thinks because I might've been still grieving, my body somehow mistook all the symptoms of pregnancy as grief..." Merlin said "Interesting. But Honesty time. How are you feeling???" "Honestly feeling really good. I'm kind of glad I missed months of Nausea this time." I replied.

He kissed my head lovingly. "I love you." He lowered his head and kissed my belly. "And I love you." "We love you too." I replied. "Merlin! Morgana!" Arthur said, pounding on our door. Merlin said "Come in!" Merlin turned to the door, as Arthur came in. "Morgana, go. Get out of here. Meet Gwen by the stables." I didn't dare disobey, I followed his instructions and met Gwen and all the women. "What's happening???" I asked Gwen, who looked worried, and had a hand on her small baby bump. She was 4 months along in her pregnancy. "There was a fire." Was all she said. But I noticed something unusual, and said "Get out of here..."

'Merlin, We're in trouble... I saw something in the sky, and it tried to burn us... I think whatever it is, is targeting me...' 'Are you sure? Did you see what it was??' 'It looked like something I haven't seen!!!' 'Alright, calm down my love. I'm on my way I think I know what happened... Go hide in the stables. I'll find you.' I obeyed. I wasn't sure how long it was, but finally Merlin came over to me. "Hey, it's okay... It's me." I heard Merlin say, as he approached. "It's as I suspected. I chased her off for now, but she'll be back." "Merlin don't lie to me. What's happening??" I asked, as he held me. "Let's talk in our chambers." When we arrived in our chambers, he shut the door and said "Does the name Morgause mean anything to you?" I said "My... half-sister. But why? What does that have to do with anything?!" He said "I feared as much... Honey, I need you to listen to me... Can you do that?" I nodded.

"Okay. So Morgause wants to attack you... to try and get you to turn evil..." I was shocked, but didn't say anything. "I will not let that happen, at all, Okay? You are my wife, and I will do everything in my powers to make sure you are protected, and the baby." I said "But..." He said "No buts, okay? Will you trust me?" I nodded, as he said "Good. Now... I do not want you to leave the insides of the castle, without the knights or myself." I nodded and said "I know it's to keep us safe." He said "Thank you. Now, why don't you go get ready for bed, take as long as you need. Have you eaten?" I shook my head. "I'll go get something for us to eat, or I can use my magic to make something for us." I smiled, gratefully. "Thank you." I undressed and went to the washroom attached to my suite.

When I exited the room, I wore my simple nightdress and went to sit on the bed. "Feeling better love? You look like you feel more relaxed." Merlin commented as we sat on the couch. "I am, and I'm starving..." Merlin chuckled affectionately. "Eat up. Arthur isn't happy that we aren't eating with them, but I assured him you just caught a chill, and just wanted to rest, and not risk passing anything on to him or Gwen." I smiled, and whispered "Thank you." We ate quietly, before I said "I love you." Merlin smiled and kissed my lips, which I gladly returned. "Now go lie down my love. I'll take the dishes out." I nodded, as I curled up in bed. I heard the door opened, before I felt a pair of arms slide around me from behind me. "mmmmm. Hi." I moaned, rolling over and snuggling into his chest. "Hi." He whispered as he held me close, which is when I fell asleep.
