Becky's POV
I went to my office earlier. Two days off is like a vacation for me. Piles of paper work can be seen on my table. I don't mind working, it's keeping me into a routine and routine is good. It distracts me from killing and helps me be patient. That's why I graduated earlier than my former classmate cause I was too focused to pass the bar exam ASAP just so I can have more freedom to kill. My sole motivation in life is murder. The clock hit 7:45 and Yuki came barging in. She's as noisy as ever but she left me some fruits as my snacks. She knew I'd be busy so she left when the clock hit 8 am. I stuck to my routine and a whole week had passed by and the next thing you knew its Monday. "The day we all hate"
I continued my work and scanned the new case given to us. "There are more criminals than you think and some are not even arrested yet" I categorized these cases and gave them to my colleagues. I have two criminal cases and I haven't decided yet which case to take. One case is a serial killer who was about to be arrested but then he fled. He was stupid enough to think that he could jump from one building to another. "He ain't fucking jackie chan" so he obviously failed and fell. Luckily he was sent to the hospital in time but went into a coma, 3 months later he woke up but forgot everything else. He doesn't even know if he likes popcorn or not, he lost his own identity alright. It was medically proven that he has amnesia so it's really hard for the court to convict him since he has no knowledge of the crime he committed and appears confused and lost through the trial making him remorseful and apologetic. The police who handled him also shared that he is a good man and the lawyer is sympathetic as well. The serial killer finds this murder extremely violent making him cry as he said the following words: how could a human being do such a horrible thing. "This fucking made me laugh" They are looking for his trophies to convict him and seal the deal of death penalty but with him having an amnesia that would be hard. The only evidence they've got is he's the only person who constantly pops up into the deaths of 8 women. "This caught my interest since I'm curious if it's possible for a serial killer to change into a new leaf given that he lost his identity. I want to know if he can still feel the urge and the thirst of blood is gone. I want to know if the need to kill can actually vanish"
The other case is a man who has a clean record. He is a photographer and so he often meets with people but he is known for being cold and distant. He has been married for 10 years but never had kids. You know what's interesting in this case. I feel like the photographer is like me. "just a hunch" Based on the CCTV he is the only person who went in and out of their house. I started looking at the pictures provided which is a pool of blood and a positive pregnancy test. The police confirmed that the pool of blood belonged to the wife and is amounting to 3 litters. They didn't find a dead body so this brings confusion if his wife is still alive or not. They tore the place down but they didn't find a body making the investigators hope that the woman is still breathing. "She's dead alright" There is a flower and a ring on the bed as well since it's their wedding anniversary and because of his job his fingerprints are ruined due to the chemical he uses when printing the photos.
Every evidence found is pointing at him but he is hard to convict since they couldn't confirm which case to file against the husband, is it murder or missing report? Without the body they have nothing against him. His a first offender, his fingerprints will be useless as evidence, and the greatest plus of all there's no body. It's an easy win if you ask me but one thing caught my attention in this, the way he disposes of the body is giving me a serial killer vibe but I'm not sure yet if he's the killer and I need to meet him to make sure first before accepting the job.
........
Friday and it's my favorite day but I'm already pissed, because the photographer man named Kevin didn't agree to meet with me and asked for a reschedule instead. It's the last day of work so despite my emotions I got something to look forward to. I get to personally see Karl Smith from afar. I immediately went to work after sending a message to Freen. It occurs to me that when I stop messaging her back she will resort to another form of communication which is calling and when I entirely ignore her you'll see her at the footsteps of my door and when I don't open the door you'll see her visiting my office. I don't want sudden visits and I certainly doesn't appreciate surprises. Despite my displeasure and hatred of her behavior i tolerate it since she's a pretty sight to see.
