SyrinxSilenus (JAL)The sky was an endless pool of blue littered with fluffy looking clouds, like giant cotton balls floating in the air. Zenis watched the flying birds with a bit of envy in his heart.
"How can they fly up there without a care in the world?" He scoffed as he closed his eyes.
He had long since forgotten the feeling of happiness. In this world, there was only pain and suffering. He couldn’t fathom why people even have to live their life if they were going to die anyway. Look at him, even though he was born to a wealthy family, he was given a weak heart and a weak body; worthless friends and a negligent family. His parents were too busy running their business to visit him in his VIP hospital room. He hated them. He hated this life, and this stupid illness. He wished he could die.
"Zenis, why do you refuse the surgery? We could easily find you a willing donor!" His father yelled.
"What's the use? I'm still going to die anyway. How long do you think I could live? Two or three years? That's just dumb. I'd rather die now.” Zenis answered, before he walked out of the room.
He could hear his father calling out to him but he refused to turn around.
Now, he found himself at a nearby park, lying underneath a tree. He could hear laughter and chattering around him, and it was irritating.
"Hi!" He heard someone cheerfully say.
He opened his eyes and saw a girl dressed in a sailor uniform, waving above him, and blocking his view of the sky. The girl had a pink wig with a little tiara on her forehead, and had eyes as blue as the sky.
'Contacts, that's probably it,’ he thought as he lazily looked at the girl.
He refused to return the greeting.
However, the girl acted as if he hadn’t just ignored her.
"What are you doing?” the girl asked again.
He refrained from rolling his eyes and decided to turn his back on her. He thought she was going to leave if he just ignored her – he thought wrong. The girl continued to fire question after question at him, chattering endlessly.
With an irritated sigh. He stood up, leaving the girl behind...or so he thought.
He went to buy a drink at a nearby convenience store and almost had a heart attack when he turned to leave after paying for his drink.
"What the heck?! Are you following me?" Zenis asked, narrowing his eyes.
There was that crazy girl, standing in front of him with an easy smile.
“Ahuh! How did you figure that out?" The girl merrily chirped.
He glared at her and started walking faster, trying to lose the girl. However, the girl continued to follow him without fail.
"Are you crazy? Stop following me!" He said through gritted teeth.
"Nope, I will continue to follow you around, and you can never shake me off," the girl confidently said with a smile.
"What—” Zenis was cut off before he could start complaining.
"Unless you come with me.” She extended a hand at him as if telling him to take it. “You have nothing to do anyway."
