Author's POV

A few footsteps at the door caught everyone's attention. They saw their HOD arrive with a few people.

A familiar pair of brown orbs caught Tanu's attention. She was surprised to see him there. He was wearing a grey formal suit looking handsome as ever in the black shirt. Much to her dismay, he never once noticed her. He stood with a straight face. At the moment, He felt like a total stranger to her.

HOD introduced them as a team from London, here to collaborate with them on their recent research.

"Hi, I am Aishwarya. I'm looking forward to collaborating with you. Thanks, Mr. Singh, for the opportunity,"

Tanu heard a female voice with a thick British accent. She averted her gaze from him and noticed a familiar mixed-race girl wearing glasses that covered her hazel eyes, dressed in a formal beige suit. Her eyes widened as she saw how the girl had changed her whole appearance from the innocent-looking girl she met in Goa to a stoic-faced woman.

If not for the nevus in her hazel eyes and her accent, Tanu wouldn't have recognized her.

Alongside her was a foreign guy with striking blue eyes. He had a friendly smile that made him seem approachable as he held a suitcase.

"Hello, I am Jacob. I would love to work with you," the guy said, giving a heartfelt smile while waving his hand.

"I am Sourabh," he said, maintaining a formal composure.

Tanu looked again at the certain person who was giving her totally different vibes today, unlike his usual chocolaty-guy look.

Just then, Pooravi elbowed her. Tanu met her questioning gaze, which seemed to say, 'What the hell is he doing here?' What should she say when she herself didn't know anything? Many questions whirled in her mind, and her throat went dry. She shook her head and try to think calmly with a clear mind.

The researchers then introduced themselves to the trio. Maintaining a straight face, Tanu reached out her hand to Aishwarya, who gave her a beautiful smile, unlike the tight-lipped one she had given to others. But Tanu didn't react.

As she reached Sourabh, his gaze softened when he saw her. She held out her hand as she introduced herself with a straight face, observing his every expression while narrowing her eyes.

She was about to take her hand back when he held it tightly, not letting her leave. She took a deep breath, giving him a 'don't-make-me-more-mad-LEAVE-ME!' look.

His eyes held mischief as he tightened his hold, making her even madder. She started digging her nails into his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Tanu," he said in a teasing tone. She is literally looking like the angry little cat from Tom and Jerry. Cute!

"Not nice meeting you at all, Mr. Sourabh!" she gritted out in a low tone, passing him a 'cute' smile.

Haha! Too cute to handle!

Not wanting to make her more mad and maintaining his 'professionalism,' he finally let go of her hand.

She cursed him with every bad word she knew in her mind.

Aishwarya then presented their plan to the team of researchers. She concluded the meeting hoping to have their great collaboration ahead.

"Dr. Tanu and Dr. Kian, please show them around," the HOD said.

Tanu and Kian showed them around and explained their recent research. Mostly, it was Kian who was speaking excitedly but formally, while Tanu maintained her calm and composed demeanour and only explained where necessary.
