Riley
Riley was frustrated.
Why? Might you ask? Because he was being distracted. Distracted by a certain dark-haired skater boy from New Zealand. Riley was just trying to train. He wanted to get better at using his new sword. He was so used to his sword at the farm that he wasn't really sure how to use this new one and all of its power that came with it.
But Chase was distracting him.
It wasn't the fact that he was working on his skateboard that was distracting Riley. It was the fact that he was working on his skateboard, AND HE LOOKED HOT!
It has been exactly two weeks since Riley found the Green Energem and became a part of the Power Rangers. And ever since that first day, his feelings for the Black Ranger have only increased. And Riley didn't know why.
Sure, he was hot. But he was the complete opposite of Riley.
He was always late, made snarky comments, was constantly complimenting himself, and never trained or took things seriously. But he just couldn't help it. Other than those faults, he was also kind, funny, and smart in his own ways. And just like how well Riley was with his sword, Chase was with a blaster.
Tyler told him that his nickname was Hotshot.
Yeah... that checks out.
Riley tries to focus so hard on his training, using the tennis ball machine to work on his moves. But he just kept hearing Chase tinkering away on his skateboard. And every single time he would turn, he would get hit with a tennis ball. It was really starting to frustrate him. If he could get easily distracted by Chase when he's practicing, imagine him in a fight. If he focuses so much on Chase, that's going to be a problem.
He shakes his head and tries, once again, to focus on his training. He hears someone slide down into the base and smiles when he sees Shelby twirling around in glee. She ducks as a tennis ball shoots out of the machine and almost hits her.
"Careful!" She says.
Riley apologizes and goes to turn off the machine. As he does so, he can hear Shelby speak a very cheerful, "good morning," to Chase. He grabs his towel and starts to walk over to the duo.
Chase takes a moment to remove his headphones and smile at Shelby. "Well, don't you look sharp?"
Sharp! Sharp?
Was Chase flirting with Shelby? Not that Chase wasn't a flirt. But he couldn't tell if he meant it or not. Did Chase have a crush on Shelby? He knew the two had known each other for a little while.
"It feels so good to come to the museum and not have to dress up..." They all turn when they hear the doors open to the base. Tyler walks out in the cafe uniform. Shelby cringes at the sight of it. "Like that."
Tyler is beaming as he walks in and shows off his new outfit. "Amazing, Right? I get to be a busboy at the cafe!"
Riley was pretty sure that Tyler was the only one who was excited to go to work. Riley wasn't excited. But, once again, it wasn't because he didn't like making food or anything. But because he has to work with CHASE! All day!
He wouldn't be able to focus!
"Chase, this isn't a workstation! This is a lab!" Kendall barges in at the last minute and motions Chase to get his board off the lab table. "Shelby, you're supposed to be in uniform."
"What?!" Shelby pushes past Chase and Riley, flabbergasted by what Kendall just said. "But, we're Power Rangers. Busy saving the world."
"Some days you're saving the world, the other days you're flipping burgers. That's just how it works."
