The morning of day one, the forest is as lively as it is desolate. Animals thriving like the eagles soaring through the sky as the landscape is bare of humanity. Infront of the rusty, worn-down spray painted sign reading 'Camp Tipiskaw', the hosts stand in their energetic poses.
Trevor: "Welcome to Disventure Camp!"
Derek: "The place where anything can happen- even if it's most likely not good."
Trevor: "We are miles away from civilisation surrounded by an unexplored forest."
Derek: "This won't be a walk in the park! We're talking about a forest with wild animals, torrential rains and extreme heat waves. Let's hope the campers are prepared for the worst, because... that's exactly what awaits them!"
Seeing Derek act out on his immense pleasure in torturing the camper's, Trevor steps in to try mediate and assure the audience it was all an exaggeration.
Trevor: "Admittedly, it's definitely not a paradise...But do not worry! Our competitors are in good hands."
Trevor clings Derek close to him, putting on the whole buddy-buddy act. But Derek's crinkled face shows a different picture.
Trevor: "I'm Trevor McGregor and this is my hosting partner Derek Johnson."
Derek: scoffs "We will do our best to make sure that all the competitors have the worst experience possible."
Trevor's face drains in colour at Derek's persistence and nudges his hand into the shorter man's head in a 'Ahem-' gesture
Trevor: "What Derek is TRYING to say is that nothing is easy on this show! Every week, our campers will have to overcome challenges and eliminations where they'll face the judgement of their teammates."
Derek: "And this is JUST the beginning!"
Trevor and Derek put up a hand each to raise the energy bar to the max.
Trevor: "So if you're ready to see a buncha strangers fight over a million dollars-"
Derek: "Or... you just like watching people suffer... Don't miss; DISVENTURE CAMP!"
Trevor and Derek both make eye contact in a bombastic side eye kinda way. The two being polar opposites as hosts leaves them with a bouncy but at-times awkward dynamic. But the ice breaks like glass when their attention is turned to the headlights of a large vehicle down the parallel concrete path. Jensen, doing the dirty work like usual, is also driving the bus of 18 competitors. The rusted engine of the bus comes to a stop as the doors gust open.
Jensen: "We're here!"
Being a gruff Scottish gilf, Jensen's accent makes his words difficult to decipher through the accent but Derek steps to the side of the bus and slams his hand onto the corroded metal plates.
Derek: "This season: we will be having Lill, Ashley, Alec, Will, Nick, Lauren, Ethan, Ellie and Gabby. You guys will be known as the Purple Team!"
The nine called out competitors all step out upon their names being called, Ashley, Ethan and Gabby being more enthusiastic about the scenic forest.
Trevor: "And opposed to the Purple Team, we will have Jake, Tom, Miriam, Drew, Dan, Fiore, Callum, Daphne and Grett! Which you will be known as the Teal Team!"
