The next few days were tense. I knew I had to find a balance between my music and my relationship with Kayla. I couldn't let my creative struggles overshadow what we had. I decided to take a break from the studio and focus on us.
One afternoon, I took Kayla to a park we'd never been to before. The day was sunny, and the park was filled with families and kids playing. We walked together, talking about everything and nothing, allowing the simple pleasure of each other's company to ease the tension.
"I've been thinking," I said, breaking the comfortable silence. "About what you said the other day. I'm sorry for letting my work take over. I want to find a way to be present, for both my music and for us."
Kayla smiled, taking my hand. "I appreciate that, Tyler. It means a lot. And I'll try to be more understanding when you're focused on your music. It's important to you, and I respect that."
We spent the day enjoying each other's company, finding new ways to support each other's passions. I realized that having Kayla in my life didn't mean sacrificing my music; it meant finding a way to make both work. She was a source of inspiration, not a distraction, and I wanted to cherish that.
