11th July 1999
It's half way through a "normal" Monday morning. I started off with Bio class with Mr South. He is an alright sort of teacher but can really get on my nerves at times.
Nobody is coming to school because of "the end" coming up. There is probably only 50 kids out of a school of 4,000 kids. It's pretty much only Bill, 5 others and myself.
Bill's uncle had a heart attack the other day because he was stressing about the whole end. I need to get out of this class! This is the time I need to be with my family. Not in this crap whole. What's that smell? Fire?
"Mr South! It smells like fire!!!"
"Your right Nicholas! Everybody file out to the oval! Single form!"

The Science room next door caught on fire and the sound of the alarm bell is annoying. Where's Bill?
