1 year before the events of OCism...

News: There is a heavy downpour at XXX-nam. Chances are, there will be flash floods.

The TV is switched off and Zygarde gets up with a groan

Zygarde: Well I'll be. It's mad how it's happened twice.
Zygarde slugged off to the bathroom and looked himself in the mirror. He had considerably aged from the incidents from last year. He had a full beard and his hair had grown past his shoulders, he had also lost a considerable amount of weight. For someone who was 16, he looked like he was 30.

He washed his face and put on a white shirt, black pants and a black blazer, he also brought a big black umbrella with him. He had to meet someone.

Place: XXX columbarium

The lanky boy trudged into the place and located a certain urn. It had a picture of a girl, no more than 18 placed over it. She had a terawatt smile and had black round glasses and long luscious hair. Beside the urn, there were some flowers. Zygarde reached in and placed some of his own - peace lilies to be specific. As he left, he saw a boy around his age also doing something similar. He had brown hair that was messy and long enough to cover his eyes. Zygarde quietly walked past him not knowing who he was.

He was Evan Yang.

They would go on to have a great rivalry.

Place: Zygarde's apartment

Zygarde reached his home about an hour after paying his respects. As he neared his apartment door, he saw a woman in her 20s. She had an outfit similar to him and looked like an older version of the girl he paid respects to. To Zygarde, she was a woman who he could not look in the face, without being reminded of all the stupid things he did.

???: Looks like you finally paid your respects to her. You've aged.

Zygarde couldn't bear to look at her. He slumped to his knees and had a defeated look. Tears fell out of his eyes and he started whimpering. Guilt had a big part in his every waking moment. The woman patted him and consoled him. In the ambience of rain, 2 hurt souls were trying to find solace.

A short while later, Zygarde and the woman enter the house. It was filled with the packaging of instant noodles. The woman ruffled his hair and helped him clean up.

???: It's time you got back on your feet. Hae-in wouldn't want to see you like this y'know!
Zygarde (stuttering): B-but I-I killed her...

???: You damn well know you didn't! It was her choice! She wanted to put the kid's life over her own!

Zygarde sighed. Hae-in's selfnesses had cost her life and he couldn't do anything about it.

???: At least treasure what she left behind!

The woman shoved her phone onto Zygarde. A photo of an infant sleeping was there.

???: No matter how much you run, hide or escape, you have to take care of her! She's your daughter y'know! She has your eyes!

Zygarde swiped the photos, there was another photo of the infant with her eyes open. One of her eyes was grey and the other was blue - just like Zygarde.

???: She's part of your responsibilities y'know! How long will you deny her of meeting her father?

Zygarde continued swiping as the woman scolded him. He finally landed on a photo where the kid turned 1. The woman's voice boomed.

???: She's turned 1! AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP!

Zygarde felt like he had been slapped in the face - a wake-up call. How long was he going to grovel in self-pity, being stuck in the past? He steeled his resolve and looked up at the woman.

Zygarde: I'll have to move on like you said. I can't be held back.

He scrutinised the picture. If he couldn't do it for himself, he had to do it for her. He grabbed his shaver and started chopping down his hair. Clumps of hair fell, and his overgrown beard was whittled down to a stubble while his forest-like hair was down to a crew cut. He stared at himself in the mirror, with a new resolve.

Zygarde: What's her name?
???: Yeon Hwa.
Zygarde: So Hae-in did end up using that huh?
???: Yep.

As the clouds drifted and the sun's rays peaked out, it poured through the window and made Zygarde's eyes gleam. He had changed. He would move on, live on to protect her legacy and give her a better life.
