Moxxie was reluctant to report back to brenson. He was scared with how he's been acting lately, he's planning something. And Moxxie doesn't have a clue what. He doesn't even know what information Debbie stole, let alone how they could use it.
Moxxie sighed heavily, he can't believe he helped Debbie steal, steal from his friends of all people! Or they were his friends.
The human thought back to earlier that night. How mad Chester looked when they locked eyes, he had chased after Moxxie, and Moxxie was scared of the look in Chester's eyes.
Moxxie looked toward Debbie, who was walking in silence, seeming to be lost in her own thoughts as well. She was holding papers in her arms, clutching them close to her chest and her eyebrows furrowed.
They walked like that, quiet, all the way to brenson's lair.
Both Moxxie and Debbie stop outside his door. The human wanted to say something. Complain, maybe argue. He also was fighting an urge to run. But he could also see a certain look in Debbie's eyes, a lack of light. And he wondered if He should ask her about it.
"So, hey Debbie-" his words were cut off by Debbie's knock on the door, and she abruptly went through.
"Brenson, sir" the mouse called in a professional tone. Brenson turned to face both of them. Moxxie shivered at the sight of his face.
A predatory, Cheshire grin crossed his face. Brenson looked past Debbie and beckoned for Moxxie to come in.
"So," Brenson drawled, "did your little playdate go well?".
Debbie hid what papers she got behind her back. "We couldn't get our hands on any information besides what the unicorns gave us..." Brenson's face wrinkled into a sour pout, and Moxxie could swear he saw his eye twitch. "But! Moxxie got the DNA!" Debbie elbowed Moxxie, prompting him to take over.
"Oh!" Moxxie flinched hard, snapped out of his thought, "Oh.. right!" He squealed.
The human pulled something from his pocket and revealed it to Brenson. similar to how a timid devout would offer a sacrifice to their terrifying God.
Cuts of hair differently colored and wet swabs kept in plastic baggies. The DNA of Chester, bunnicula, CC, Ravi and Kai. Moxxie nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound of Brenson's booming laughter.
He hollered "Yes yes YES! PERFECT!!" He stalked toward Moxxie and snatched the samples away. "Excellent work, pet" brenson pet the top of Moxxie's head.
"Debbie" Brenson turned to the mouse, "Debbie, dear, take this to the lab! And do whatever you do" he chuckled. Handing the samples to Debbie, and sending her on her way. "Moxxie, you're excused" brenson waved toward him, still smiling.
Moxxie wasted no time and bolted through the door, slamming it behind him. He leaned up against the door and groaned, what did he just do!?
He needed to get out and clear his head. Moxxie sprinted out of the building and he didn't slow down until he was some blocks away.Moxxie walked down the street, looking at bright billboards and lighted windows. Cars drove by in flashes.
Crowds of faces pass by, people he doesn't recognize. Except for two. He gasps in shock as Moxxie's eyes land on the very people he trying to clear from his mind, Bunnicula and Ravi.
They must've been walking home from where they first encountered each other that very night. They saw Moxxie too. And all three froze, locking eyes with each other.
"Chester- is- Is Chester with you?" Moxxie looked around in a paranoid manner."No" Ravi admitted, and Bunnicula gaped at him, "Uh- no, Chester and everyone else is back home. Me and Bunnicula were just going on a walk to get away from-"
