It has been 4 days since I sent the text to TJ. It has been radio silence. Nothing, nada, from him. Not even a post on his public or private social media accounts.

I am sitting at my 22 week anatomy appointment when I noticed something peculiar. I have a new friend request from someone named Gina DeFalco on Facebook. I can count the number of times that I have talked to Gina on one hand so I am so confused as to why she is friend-requesting me on Facebook. I start to go through her Facebook when I heart my name called.

"Maryse Lane"

I stand up and follow the nurse to get my height and weight taken.

Once we reach the room. We go over my temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, new medications, and anything else I have changed. She also tells me that I will be getting an ultrasound today so I am super excited about this.

As she leaves, she tells me that the doctor will be with me shortly.

Once she leaves, I immediately get my phone out again to continue looking at Gina's Facebook. As soon as I pull it up, I noticed that there was a new photo that she was tagged in from three minutes ago.

It was a photo of her entire family from the family farm. I immediately recognize TJ because he towers over everyone. But hold the fucking phone, who the hell is standing next to him? I know it is not one of his sisters or one of his brother's girlfriend or wife. I immediately go into a deep dive into trying to figure out who that is.

I left Facebook to go to TJ's followers to look at the profile pictures to see if I can recognize her. After scouring his page, there was only one person that looked similar to the person that was standing the family photo.

Logan.

I cannot request to follow her. She is obviously with TJ. He moved on fast. What am I even saying? We were never even together?

I am brought out of my thoughts when I hear a knocking at the door. I power off my phone as the doctor walks in.

"Hello, Maryse. How are you?"

"I have been better", I respond.

"Ok, well let's make it a great day. We're going to give you an ultrasound today and let you see the baby again since it has been about 4 weeks since your last visit."

"Ok, perfect. I could use some good news in my life, to be honest. I do have a question. I am about to go out of country next week, is it still okay for me to travel?"

"You are 22 weeks today, so you will be almost 23 weeks once you travel. I guess I should ask, where are you going?"

"Budapest."

"Uhm, I heavily advise against it. Although you are not too far along in your pregnancy, that long of a flight could lead to thrombosis, or other major complications. If your job allows it, I would ask to stay home."

"Okay, thank you so much. I will talk to my boss. But let's see this baby, shall we?"

I feel tears well up in my eyes as I hear the heartbeat over the machine.

"Best sound in the world, huh?", I hear the doctor asks me.

"The best."

"I am going to print off the ultrasounds, I will print off multiple sets so you can send one to Erik and Emily, how does that sound?"

"That is perfect. Thank you so much."

"We'll plan to meet again in 4 weeks. At that appointment, you will do that blood glucose tests and test for gestational diabetes. Once you hit the 32 week mark, we will start to meet to meet every 1-2 weeks instead. Depending on the size of the baby at the 36 week mark will dictate if the baby will need to come out early or if he can come out naturally. You are about an average height for a woman so I guess it is going to depend on the father's height. Do you have any questions for me?"
