"So, you're done?" Armon asked as he looked at his little sister.
The next morning, Anastasia had left Giovanni's place and went back to her apartment. To her surprise, her brother was right inside, sitting comfortably on the couch.
"You should be too." Ana told him as she sipped from her mug of hot cocoa. "But yes, I am. I'm tired of arguing. I'm tired of the negativity. I have to separate myself from that."
"Oh, trust me. After what happened last night, I am done. Unlike you, I've been keeping my shit private." Armon said to her, earning a frown.
"And what do you mean by that?" Ana asked.
"I've been coaching a basketball team for the past two months, but I've also been training too." Armon told her.
"Oh my God, Armon! That's great," Ana nudged him, her smiling brightening up the room. She was happy that he was still able to do something related to basketball.
"Nobody, not even Pops, knows I did physical therapy after the incident. I kept it under wraps because I didn't need no shit from him." Armon shook his head. "But in with you. I can't deal with that shit any longer."
"What about your duties?"
"Fuck that shit," he waved it off as if it were nothing. He no longer cared to participate in his father's shenanigans any longer. "I'm done with that, and he can't intimidate me like he did when I was younger. You inspired me, sis."
She smiled at his last statement. "No matter what happens, we're always gonna have each other. I promise," she held out her pinky.
"I promise," Armon linked his pinky with hers. "Now, where Mo at?"
"Please get over that." Anastasia laughed, covering her mouth as he stale faced her. "But she's at work."
"I'm gonna get her one of these days." Armon commented, leaning back on the couch. "So, what's going on with you and Gio?"
"Nothing. We're just friends." Ana grumbled, looking away from him.
"Please stop lying to yourself." Armon laughed at her coyness. "You've had a crush on that man since high school. You only didn't go for it because of Pops."
"How do you know my business, sir?" Ana asked, looking over at him with a frown.
"The rumor mill." She rolled her eyes at his response. "Stop being scared and go for it."
"I don't wanna talk about this." She grabbed her mug and finished off the remaining contents before getting up to put it in the sink.
"Live your life, sis." Armon told her as he stood up. He pulled his phone from his pocket and checked the time. "I gotta go. It's some stuff I gotta handle."
"Go ahead. Stay safe, brother." She walked over to him and gave him a hug. "I love you."
"I love you too, Bug." He kissed her forehead before backing out of the hug. "I'll hit you up later."
