Sorren hadn't been loved the moment he was born. His parents were very religious, and more kids was what they were to have. How were they to say no to their parents? When Sorren was born he had two older sisters and one older brother. They didn't like him very much, he never really knew why.
Sorren's parents, Karina and Lucian didn't willingly get married. Even though it was considered old fashioned, Karina's parent's wanted her to marry well. And that is how she met Lucian Marko.

Karina's head bounced against the window of the car. She doesn't want to get married. It was the winter after her high school graduation. Her birthday was a week ago. She was legally an adult. The car took a sharp turn down a rocky, unpaved road. Karina lifted her head and tried to look out the front windshield. Seeing as the side windows were covered in snow, she had no idea where her parents were taking her. They could be taking her somewhere to murder her. It's dark to think about that, but that's where her mind went and she wouldn't put murder above her parents.
The car slowly stopped and Karina's mom put the car in park. Her mom got out and her dad quickly followed. She sat in the car for a second longer, contemplating running away. The car door opens. A gust of cold air rushes into her face. Outside is a old farm style house with a huge wrap around porch. The paint is chipping and some of the shutters are falling off. Dead trees covered in snow surround the house and are scattered across the fields. The fields spread far past the fence into a woods that went on for what seemed like forever.
"Come on," Karina's mom was at the door. "You do want to make a good impression, don't you?" Karina shrugged. She didn't really care for the man she was going to marry. Not that she had met him yet, but still. She got out of the car with her hands in her pockets and her head down. She wanted to come off as unapproachable as possible to scare away this mystery man. Her mom grabbed her chin and forced her head up.
"Get your hands out of your pockets," Karina's mother slapped Karina's arm with the back of her hand. " I wish you had worn something nicer." She sighs. "You look like a stoner in that baggy outfit." Karina thought of a good come back but knew not to talk back to her mother and what would happen if she did. The trio walks up to the porch and Karina's dad knocks on the door. A man around the same age as him answered.
"Antonio!" The man shouted when he saw Karina's father and embraced him in the sort of hug you only see best friends give each other which is weird because they've only met each other two weeks ago. "Come on in!" He kindly gestures to the family to enter. At least one of the in laws will be nice.
The inside of the house looked like what you would imagine an old farm house to look like. Old leather couches in almost every sitting room, cow pelts covering some of them. The floors were old wood and slightly faded from walking. There was a horseshoe hung on one of the walls by the door. The wallpaper was peeling a little bit and there was some yellow patches. The house looked like it hadn't been taken care of in years but clean at the same exact time. It was an odd look, but Karina found it oddly comforting. The look on her mother's face showed that she did not feel the same.
The man led the family into a dinning room of sorts. There was a bunch of papers on the square table. The floor had switched from a yucky tile to patchwork wood. There was photos of roadkill hung on the walls. Two people were sitting at the table; a middle aged woman and a young man, probably around his early twenties. Karina couldn't lie, he was beautiful. He had gorgeous green eyes and dark brown hair that was the exact opposite of Karina's bright blonde hair. There was no way he was younger than twenty two but at the same time he looked so much younger than that. Karina didn't really notice how tall he was until he stood up to greet the family.
