Chapter 1

September 2010

Liam's P.O.V:

I woke this morning to my alarm clock blasting music at 6:30 in the morning. Of course, it was another day in the hell hole we call school. I just groaned and smacked the alarm clock off and rolled out of bed.

I showered and put my hair into its natural fringe and threw on my gray hoodie that said G.S.RAW and some blue jeans with my white converse. I ran downstairs and popped two pieces of bread into my mouth before checking to see if the note from mom was on the door.

Liam,

Hospital called in early and I'll be gone all evening until around 11 pm. Don't do anything stupid darling.

I took the note off the fridge and put it into my back pocket like I did every morning. I ran into the living room to get my backpack and then was out the door walking to school.

It was rare if I had a ride to school because the hospital called my mom in so much. I'm used to walking anyways so it wasn't a big deal. Unless it was quite cold, like today. But London is usually at a cool temperature so I didn't make a huge fuss about it.

I made it to the school about 10 minutes before the bell rang, which gave me enough time to go and see my friends before my first class started. I made my way over to my friend's locker where I knew they would be.

I approached them and Sam was the first one to notice me. "Liam!"

They all greeted me with a hug and a pat on the shoulder before going back to whatever they were talking about. Suddenly I was included in the conversation but I was so spaced out I didn't hear what they said.

"What?" I asked blinking.

"I asked if you were down for the score we got tonight?" Zayn asked.

"Oh yeah, of course I'm down. Who do you think I am?" I laughed and Zayn just patted me on the back.

"So, 6 pm at our secret place?" Calum asked.

Zayn nodded and then we all left the circle before things got suspicious.

The first half of the day went by pretty fast for some reason. It just made me think that tonight was going to be a good score, whatever it was.

"Hello Liam." Someone said as they sat down in the chair next to me.

I looked over to my right to see that it was Danielle who had sat by me. "Hey Danielle." I greeted her.

"So, I was just thinking that maybe you and I could go out tonight?" She asked twirling her hair.

"I don't know I'm a little busy tonight." I said.

"You sure? I could show you a good time." She smirked, placing her hand on my thigh under the desk.

"As tempting as that is," I move her hand from my thigh "I'm already busy tonight. Sorry." I apologized.

"That's okay. We'll save it for another night." She winked as the teacher started talking.

It was currently past 6 pm and we were all waiting at our secret location. Well, all of us were here except for Calum. He was running late and nobody knew why.

Luke was sitting on the cement against the wall smoking a cigarette, Zayn and Sam were leaning against the wall on their phones and I was pacing back and forth.
