Somewhere in the forest of the Star Moon pack territories.
March 18, 20XX
Tuesday 4:00 PM, Seven years ago, before the main timeline.
Theodore is 12, and Baron is 14.

Theodore Green's POV:

I ran in wolf form with my best friend along the forest ground.
My wolf, Echo, was happily running away from Baron's wolf.
Alabaster, Baron's wolf, was a dominant wolf with great leadership.
It is no wonder he was chosen as a future beta.
But even though he was dominant and strong, he lacked speed.
And with that, I was able to outrun him.
But I guess I got too cocky.
Because when I turned around to tease him, I didn't realize he was close.

Baron then pounced on me, and our wolves ended up in a playfight.
We tumbled around the forest floor until we both got tired.
My wolf huffed after we finished our little tussle.
On the other hand, Alabaster looks like he wanted more action.
After resting a bit, we decided to go back to the spot where we left our clothes.
We left our clothes by a tree not far from here.
It was a willow tree that was said to have been planted by the fifth luna in our pack's history.
That would be around 300 years ago.
Thinking about it, It was kind of disrespectful to leave our clothes there at such a historical landmark.

Anyways...
I retreated to the opposite side of the tree to shift back to my human form.
I did so to prevent Baron from seeing my naked body.
Although nudity is common in werewolf culture, it is still just as embarrassing as for normal humans.
Plus, I want to save my naked body just for my mate.
A mate is one of the most important things a werewolf can have. (All of you know this already - Calaxi)
My parents are mates, and looking at the two...
Having a mate is everything.
I want that for myself.

Unfortunately, I'm still twelve.
I have to wait a few more years before I get to meet my mate, or at least sense them.
Waiting is such a pain.

After putting on my clothes, which were a pair of boxer shorts and a long-sleeved white shirt, I walked around the willow tree to meet up with Baron.
He was also wearing a pair of boxer shorts, along with a grey tank top.
I slightly blush at the sight of him.
For a 14-year-old, he was well-built.
He most likely gained his muscles from the pack training that I was never able to join.
I couldn't join any of the training sessions because of how weak I was.
The pack doesn't know why I am frail for a werewolf, but it is what it is.

Baron then looked at me.
"How's your wolf?" he asked nicely.
I listened to my wolf.

"I'm satisfied!" Echo said in my mind, "All that running around the forest felt so good!""He's happy," I said, replying to Baron.
"Alabaster liked the play fight we had more." He said, grabbing a bottle of water that he brought along with him.
"No surprises there," I said, giving a playful eye roll.
"So..." He said after he finished his drink, "You have any plans this week?"
"No... not really," I said, sitting down by a tree root, "What about you?"
"I have to go... well, the usual." He said.
"By the way, I wanted to ask about Lucian," I said, curious about the future alpha of our pack, "How's he treating you?
"He is a nice person." He said casually, "He is also a natural leader."

That was expected from the next Alpha.
"Lucian told me..." He continued, "That Alpha Darryl has been training him in private in both physical and political training."
"What about the Luna?" I asked, curious about our Luna.
"I think she just assists with the political stuff," Baron said.
