Czine pov

I walked down the hall, my eyes wandering around, for me it was different this time... Because he's s with me now.

Luifos suddenly cradled me as I hugged him back. We've been in a relationship for 5 years now... I hugged him tight as she laid a soft kiss in my lips.

The air smelled like rain and freedom.  I hummed a little tune, my steps light on the sidewalk.  Work was done, errands finished, and now I was heading home.  My apartment, with its mismatched furniture and books piled everywhere, was my happy place.  I could almost taste the hot tea waiting for me, feel the comfort of my old armchair.

Suddenly, a loud screech of tires cut through the quiet.  Then, a loud BANG.  The world tilted, and everything went dark.

It was like waking up from a dream, but the dream was all I had left.  Everything was blurry, the colors, the sounds, the faces.  I felt a pull, a longing for something I couldn't quite reach.  A name, a whisper on my lips.

But the whisper died, swallowed by the silence that surrounded me.  My heart, once full of the joy of going home, now felt empty.  My haven, my comfort, all felt like a fading memory.

I was lost, stuck in a place where the air was thin and the light was dim.  The world kept spinning, but I was frozen, a silent watcher in a play I didn't understand anymore.

Luifos POV

The rain hammered on the windowpane, a steady rhythm that mirrored the dull ache in my chest. Five years. Five years since the world went dark, since Czine's laughter vanished, since the color drained from everything.

I stared at the faded photograph on my nightstand. Her smile, frozen in time, made my throat tighten. The book we shared, all dog-eared and scribbled with our notes, sat on the shelf, a silent reminder of a love that was ripped away.

I tried to fill the space she left. New hobbies, new friends, even dates. But it all felt empty. Every conversation, every laugh, just reminded me of her.

The city felt different. The cafes we went to, the park where we kissed under the stars, they all felt haunted. I saw her everywhere, her ghost, her laughter, her touch.

Even the smell of fresh bread, the sun on my skin, made me sad. It was like I was stuck on repeat, replaying the same memories, the same feeling of her being gone.

My parents tried to help. They’d call, their voices strained with concern, asking if I was eating, if I was taking care of myself. They’d visit, bringing casseroles and offering awkward hugs, but their words felt hollow. They couldn't understand. How could they? They hadn't lost a part of themselves, a piece of their soul.

"You need to move on, Luifos," my dad would say, his eyes filled with a kind of pity I couldn't bear. "Czine wouldn't want you to be sad."

But how could I move on? How could I forget the way her eyes would light up when she talked about her dreams, the way her laughter could fill a room, the way her touch could make me feel like I was the only person in the world?

I tried to distract myself with work, but even the projects I used to find exciting felt meaningless without her. I'd sit at my desk, staring at the computer screen, my mind a jumbled mess of thoughts and emotions. I'd try to focus, to find some semblance of order in the chaos, but the only thing that remained clear was the emptiness that consumed me.

My mom would call, her voice a little too cheerful, trying to convince me to go out, to meet new people. "There are other good people out there, Luifos," she'd say, her voice wavering. "You can't let this define you."
