Dear Maddie,
Can I call my diary Maddie? The roof's leaking again, and Mom's thinking about moving, but Uncle Neighbor Mark says not to. I think it's something about the floods, but I don't mind. I won't be noticed, being inside and all.
I haven't started writing the assignment Mrs. Pembroke gave us for online class, but I don't mind at all. I'm not going to see her in real life, just through the screen. I want to, but Jack says I'll blind everyone with my face... I'm not ugly, am I? And I'm talking to a book...
