The Boy Next-door

Chapter 1

"Come on James you can't keep being locked up in here till school reopens."

"Yeah bro get the fuck up you're killing my vibe."

The two people currently trying to get me off my ass are my bestfriends Alyssa and Brody.

"No! He's gone and left me just like that." I sniffle

"Oh James, I know he feels really sorry for what he did but he didn't have a choice and you know it." Alyssa gives me a tight squeeze.

I was currently crying over a boy. A boy....I know I sound dumb, but this boy was my first well everything....my first friend, first kiss, first boyfriend and he had to move to a new city and break up with me just like that. No warning at all, I would've been fine with long distance but clearly he couldn't wait to get rid of me.

"He left me..."

Alyssa smacked my arm.

"Ow!!!!" I let out a yell.

"Good one Lyss, bro stop crying over him already he's a douche what's done is done Larry is not coming back!" I frowned after Brody said that name.

Larry McAllister my first boyfriend, the asshat who left and broke up with me because 'long-distance relationships are so 2016' who the hell says that to their crying partner!
He lived next-door so we were always together and after he left I have despised my new neighbor. He reminded me so much of Larry he stormed out of my life and a reflection of him entered the following day.

Taking Brody's words into account I stand up straight and look at them, "Fine. Fuck it what should we do." I said wiping away all my tears.

"That's right. So I was thinking we go out for lunch and movies?" Brody gives me a pleading look.

"Oh yes! Let's go James you'll feel totally better after our outing." Alyssa continues to wrap her hands around me.

"Ok. Give me 20 to get ready."

40 minutes later

I finished making myself presentable to be out in public. Since my parents were at work and my brother always being no where to be found, I locked the house and headed down the stairs to Brody's 4x4 and I mistakenly looked to my right and then I saw him. My stupid, hot—no no very unattractive neighbor.

"Yo!" He called out to me and me being me I gave him the dirtiest look known to man and continued to the car.

"Bro what was that about he was just being nice." Brody questioned as soon as we entered the car.

"I have nothing to say to that interloper." I seethed as I looked outside as we were making our way out of my driveway.

"James, stop being dramatic it's not his fault Larry left you."

Left me? Whaa— he didn't leave me he left cause of his stupid parents.

"I don't care, now can we stop talking about this and let's just go and eat." After I said that silence took over our car ride to the diner.

After we ate and went to the cinema Brody dropped me off after dropping Alyssa at hers.

"Remember what I told you." Brody said catching my hand before I could leave my car.

I sighed "I should just let him go for good." He smiled at me and kissed me goodbye on the forehead.

I know I know your bestie kissed you??? Yes we are a very affectionate group, plus Brody is super straight I have no worries of him ever catching feelings.

After I had seen both my parents' mercs outside, I head inside the house to find both of the chilling in the living room.

"Hey y'all" I greeted them in passing.

"Hey" Dad answered and I thought I was free until— "Wait come here."

Damn it.

"What did you do today?" My mom questioned me.

Both my parents are amazing but they're really nosy so I'm always dreading to tell them about my life cause they dig for every detail, fml.

"Went to eat and watch a movie with Brody and Lyssa." I responded sitting on the recliner opposite their love seat.

"That's sounds so cool all I had was a boring day at work being a doctor is soo boring."

"Mom you literally save people's lives everyday"

"Correction I save some decent people alot of them turnout to be huge asses." she said with a disgusted look on her face.

"Lydia!" My dad acts shocked hearing mom swear infront of me.

"Oh shut it John, James swears all the time he doesn't care." My mom chuckles at my dad's fake expression "Wait where's your brother?" She turns to me now.

"I really don't know, last time I saw him was yesterday."

"What!?"

Ahh my troublesome brother Jacob has struck my mother's nerve again. I swear that kid was born to test my parents patience you'd think he'd lead by example since he's the oldest between the two of us.

"Lydia it's cool, it's Jacob being Jacob he'll come he always does." and he always does "Anyway James we wanted to tell you something."

"Oh yes, we're going to have dinner with the Morris' tomorow." My mom said all excitedly.

"The who??" I have no idea who those people are. Were they from their jobs or what?

"Oh silly. The new family that moved into Larry's old house." I felt pure cold as she finished her sentence.

What? I'm having dinner with the family that has now occupied my ex's house!? Oh my fuckk that boy. He's going to want to talk to me, no no no no this can't happen.

"Can I decline?" I ask faking a soft expression clearly holding the bowels of hell inside my tiny 16 year old body.

"Oh honey it's okay. He's been gone all summer long you must feel better." My mom asked with a concerned look.

Before I respond I remember Brody's words 'Just let him go for good.' and that's exactly what I intend to do...

"Yes" lie "Yes I do." Nope in my heart I was still very much inlove with Larry.

A/N

Hey guys I know I said I'd release the first chapter on Sunday but there's just so much that is happening in my life that I ended up forgetting. But this is the first chapter of my new book I hope you'll love it as much as I have when I was writing it.
