The girls were stood in the garage, Annabelle was completely caught off guard by the kiss. She felt as though in those few seconds, she had a million thoughts run through her head. She thought about the last time she had seen Taylor, how soft her lips were, how this kiss, 9 years later, gave her the same feelings she had the first time. She thought about when she first realized she was in love with Taylor. The first time they met. The jokes they used to share. The time Taylor dared her to kiss her. She thought about everything.
What she didn't realize is that she hadn't kissed Taylor back. Just as quickly as the blonde placed her lips on Annabelle's, she removed them, bringing Annabelle right back to reality.
The brunette spun back around and entered the house through the garage door. By the time Taylor's mind caught up to her body and she followed Annie back inside, the girl was gathering her things.
"I know, I'm sorry, I have to go, I forgot I have a... thing." Annie said to Elenor and Andrea. "Tell everyone bye for me?"
"Belle." Taylor said from behind the girl. Annie refused to acknowledge Taylor, instead gave a quick hug to the mothers in the kitchen before retreating towards the front door.
"Belle, you can't keep ignoring me." Taylor tried again, as Annie was reaching for her shoes by the door, still with no answer.
"What did you do?" Andrea whispered at her daughter.
"Tay, you know she's stubborn, I'm sure you know that if she leaves, you won't have another chance for a while." Elenor said. "I would stop her if I were you."
Taylor didn't want to be rude, but already knew that. She was already half way to the front door. She caught Annie just as she was getting in the car. The blonde immediately got in as well before Annie could stop her.
"You can't keep running away from me Belle, please, talk to me." Taylor begged.
"I need to go." Annie responded.
"No you don't, and you can't be mad at me forever."
"I'm not mad at you." Annie said with her eyes forward, refusing to look at the other girl.
"What can I do Belle?"
"You shouldn't have kissed me. Please go Tay, I can't do this."
"Did you read the letter I left you?"
No answer.
"Annie I'm trying here, it's been 9 years. I can't stand you hating me and I can't stand you not being around."
"I don't see why you care so much, I'm just some girl who's been obsessed with you for years." Annie recalled the last words she'd heard from Taylor.
"You know that's not true."
"How would I know that? You ran away when I told you how I felt, you outed me to the school, you moved away to pursue the dreams that WE planned together and you didn't even tell me until a week before." Annie cried. "How would I know it's not true?"
"I was scared Ann."
"Ha. Scared." Annie scoffed.
"Abigail said the kids at school were brutal, I should have been there."
"I don't give a fuck about what they thought, I cared about you. And yeah you should have been there."
"I've regretted it everyday since. You didn't deserve any of that. I should have told you about my record deal, I saw an opportunity and I took it, you should have been there for all of it. None of this is worth it without you. You are the only thing in the world that matters to me. I was 15, I didn't know anything. The only thing I knew for certain is that I was sickeningly in love with you. Every thing was about you. I couldn't sleep, eat, live, write or play without thinking about you. I was scared and I didn't put you first. Please come back inside. Don't leave. I want to fix this, the family misses you." Taylor pleaded. "I miss you. Please."
