Today's nickname day

There are at least twenty 'Alice's in Octeson High. And I'm one of them. This one of the many reasons why I hate my name. The second? How bout this, the school snob Alice Maya McQueen is someone you surely don't wanna share a name with. So I go by Lili, after my mother Lili Abigail Carson. Dad harshly objected to it at first, for the very syllables of her name broke his heart clean into two. It broke mine too, but the memory of her stays in this name. "Lili!" I turned around to the familiar messy dark haired boy I call my best friend. "Logan, your hair." I had to try so hard to not laugh. His forever messy dark brown locks, wavy from just waking up, smelt like almonds. Don't ask me why, Logan's just like that. He rolled his eyes, shoving hair off his bright, chocolate brown eyes that were framed with rectangular black spectacles. He was by all means handsome, but most of the prettier( and snobbier) girls prefer guys with perfect vision. But I like Logan just the same. He's an awesome friend. I grinned at him as I grabbed books from my locker. "Let's go, Lo," I smirked, knowing he hated the nickname. He frowned adorably and I pinched his cheeks. "Lili! You just ruined my perfect face!" He whined like a little kid. I rolled my eyes. "You're welcome." I replied with a cheeky grin and I ran towards class, leaving Logan chasing after me. With a barely stifled giggle, I dropped to my seat. Moments later, Logan appeared. "Why am I even best friends with you?" Logan huffed in annoyance. "Because you love me." I smirked cheekily, batting my eyelashes. "Whoa. Crazy flirt alert," Logan retorted sarcastically, just as Piper, my other best friend arrived. We seat in threes, and being the shortest among the three of us, I was squashed between Piper and Logan. Roxanne, who doesn't take History( she prefers geography), is part of our weird group but she's more flirty. "Hey Pi," Logan and I greeted in unison. Piper smiled as she flicked her beautiful chestnut hair over one shoulder. "Hey little sis and big bro." At this Logan grinned at me triumphantly while I sulked. Even though I was 2 week older than Piper, my ridiculous height grant me the seat of 'Little sis'. Sheesh. The unfairness of it all. 'Big bro' ruffled my hair as Piper sat down, laughing. "Lili, that face though," I scowled at her. She smiled back. "Aargh."
"Love you too little sis." Sigh. If Logan and Piper were really my siblings, I'll have a real hard time. Scratch that, I am having a real hard time.

For some reason I can't fantom, Piper's and Logan's favourite hobby is annoying me. So far, they've gotten to ruffling my already messy nut brown hair. I've rolled my eyes countless times and retorted at least 10 times "You guys need a high-five, in the face, with a chair!", but they just won't stop. Not that I'm complaining too much. Being 'little sis' means I get all the attention. Heh heh, attention seeker much?
"Mr Jones, Ms Forest and Ms Colleens. One more word and you will go for detention." Mr Houson glared at us from his beady black beetle eyes. His thick Southern accent really stuck in his words. Not that we cared. "Sorry, Mr Houson, but you're making us late for our English period," Logan smiled at the gruff old man. With a annoyed huff and cold glare, he shooed us out. " Thank you for your reminder. Now get out." Was his usual response. Piper, Logan and I strolled out to meet Roxanne, who was standing, alone, in a corner. "Roxie!" I yelled over the din to be heard. "Oh hey, Lili." She responded absentmindedly, too busy typing on her phone to look at us properly (as usual). "Hey Roxie, are you married to your phone?" Logan joked, giving us jazz hands. Roxie shoved his shoulder. "Whatever, matchmaker," she shot back, still not looking up. Piper just rolled her eyes. I shrugged. Logan was too busy pretending to look hurt. "Well then, looks like today's nickname day."

"Sheesh Lil, even my fingers are dying to be deaf." Roxanne retorted.

"Not my problem. Tell your boyfriend to shut up," I shot back, smirking. Even Piper, who hardly smirks, had to smirk. And don't get me started on Logan. He's too happy he got revenge. Hah, Roxie. "Oh shut up." Roxie gave us stern glare. "Unlike you guys, I have other....... duties to do." She smiled and gave us a meaningful look. If she meant countless dates and calls till midnight, sheesh, don't get her started. You'll have permanent hearing damage. That is, PhD. Pun intended. Logan rolled his eyes and mouthed to me and Piper, crazy flirt and kill me now. As if on cue, both Piper and I rolled our eyes. Roxie gave us a look. "Gosh. You guys need a life."
"No thanks, we're living," Logan grinned his irritating grin. Piper smirked just to annoy Roxie. I looked at my watch and said,"Shuts! We're gonna be late!" Then all of us dashed to the classroom in record time. What a wonderful life we have! Sarcasm.
