"I wonder what Bismarck wants me to do now..."
is what Alex thinks as she walks down the hallway of a surprisingly busy survivor base. Despite the apocalyptic world outside, this base in particular is a fairly populated one.
all the facilities inside seems to be in working order too, as she passes by the window overlooking the hangar where her B-17, the Sunrise Fort is being repaired at, the battle a few days prior seems to have taken a toll on the plane's airframe.
she sighed in relief at the view that she's currently seeing despite all that is happening. Even more, it's an outdoor base too! Must be a one in a million chance to find a base right at this island and far away from any rogue shipgirls that may be wandering around.
well, Alex decides to not longer around anymore as she felt the passing stares of various people- and some non infected shipgirls that happened to pass by. It's has been a few days also since she and her ragtag band had arrived at the base. Alex isn't the most self aware person out there either, as she is also confused by the stares, it might have been her attire- or also the cold look she gave to everyone she passed by despite not having any bad intentions with them.
Alex hurried her pace before finally arriving at the office door of the host- and founder of this base as she had heard from the gossips she just so happen to hear on the way there. The door's impressive wood structure adorned with various wood sculptures looks like a complete 180 degree to the more militaristic environment of the survivor base. Knocking on the door, she waits for a few seconds before the voice of the once leader of the Iron Blood echoes from inside.
"Come in."
That was all the thing that Alex needed to hear before grabbing on the handle of the door and turning it open, walking inside still with the usual attire she always wear at all times. That same outfit that had gotten the weird looks from everyone she passed by on the way here. And she doesn't really mind keeping up a good look on everybody, including even Bismarck herself, who's sitting on an office chair at the farthest point from the door Alex had just opened.
"I have heard that you have a a task for me. Is it because of that big, bad thing I've brought into here.?" Alex said, referring to the heavily modified B-17 she had brought in few days prior. She also did that as she walked towards the desk in front of Bismarck, not minding any mannerism which earned an annoyed look from Köln (Rey is now Köln, which is Bismarck's secretary which is also the one that had welcomed the Alex squad.) But not from Bismarck herself, who only kept her stoic face all the time.
"If you're referring to that plane you brought in, then yes. Your actions in saving the base also is a reason for why I called you here."
"But first things first, what's your impression of our humble base so far.?" Bismarck asked the hood- and mask wearing woman that is now standing mere meters away from her desk, a part of her courtesy of welcoming new visitors to her base, and of course it's only the peaceful bearing ones she will welcome.
The word "humble" That she used also is something of an understatement considering the room that the both of them is in now, the woodwork of the many furnitures in there and also the various paintings which Alex assumed to be taken from a museum is only a fraction of that "humble" Base. The complete facilities capable of sustaining human life and the docks there also went beyond of something that is humble.
"This is a very good place." Was all she said about her first impression. She does appreciate all the services this base provides for it's inhabitants, but to make an intricate response is something quite difficult considering that it has only been a few days.
"... That is all.?"
"That is all. But maybe my impression will grow more the longer I stay here, but don't expect too much."
