Damon POV

Caroline can never keep anything to herself. Clearly she told me about the new girl, Lana. She was invited to our house tonight for their friend study session. But I clearly can not wait and I need to meet her now. I do not why Stefan is doing high school again, when he can literally be anything he wants to be. Him and Elena are just carried away in la la la land.

Clearly she has good taste in cars but I would choose my car over hers. She has the prettiest eyes, but clearly looks at me confused. She rolls down her window. I tell her my name and it looks like she has seen a ghost. "You're the brother I was warned about." She looks over at me and sees the beauty of a car. "You like?" I saw turning to the side to get a better view of it. " Yes, it's nice," she says, shrugging. "What's your name?" I ask her clearly knowing her name. "Lana. I have to get going Damon, I think I'll see you later." she says rolling up her window and pulls out of the parking lot. A girl driving a mustang, a new turn on? Check.

Somehow I always end up at the bar in the Mystic Grill. "Donavon bourbon," I wave at him. I tap my fingers on the counter while I wait for Matt to pour up my drink. I look over to the tables to watch people and I see Lana with a guy who is older talking. Thankfully I am a vampire and I can overhear. "As your uncle I think I have the right to know who your friends are." The guy says sipping on his drink. " Uncle Max the whole summer you weren't this protective, but now that I started school you are all dad mode." she says, rolling her eyes but smiles. I turn back around and get my cup of bourbon , to make it not that obvious I'm invading her privacy. "This summer you were getting comfortable with Mystic Falls, now you're making friends. I'm pretty sure my sister will haunt me for life if I don't meet the people you're gonna hang out with." I sip on my bourbon and stop listening to their conversation.

—----

I left the bar soon after Lana left with who I now know as her uncle. I changed into a better looking outfit. I got to make my mark on this girl. I never was the good guy, that has always been Stefan's job. When Rose died, that hurt. She was that push I needed to be better for me. I still will be Damon Salvatore just a tad bit nicer. The only person here is Elena, but she practically lives here. I hear the sound of a mustang outside. I walk outside and see Lana mustang. She has her windows rolled down, so she automatically notices me. She parks next to Elena's car. She gets off and walks to her trunk to get her bag. She is wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt with those ugly clog shoes. Somehow she makes it work. " Hey Damon, only Elena here?" she says walking toward the front door. " Yup," I say, popping the p. " your house is beautiful, I love the vibe of it," She says going inside the house surprised. "Hey guys," she says, going to hug Elena and only give a side hug to Stefan. "Why did I not get a hug?" I say crossing my arms together giving Lana the pouting eyes. Lana just rolls her eyes. "So it is just gonna be us, the girls canceled on us. Both of them have something to do with their families." Elena drops her eyes and looks at Lana's bracelet.. "That's so pretty. Where did you buy it?" Elena questions. "It was the last thing my parents bought me before they passed. I must wear it at all times, they were being weird about it but oh well." She says playing with it. "Must wear at all times" it must be vervain. Even still, why should she have vervain? I need to quickly change the topic, and tell Stefan and Elena that we have to be careful. "Since it is just us four, let's go out and have dinner. A double date?" I say winking looking at Lana. "Let's go!" Elena says standing up from the couch, Stefan nods in agreement. "I don't wanna be the buzzkill, but what about the essay paper?" Lana questions but wants to agree. "Lana we have all week for that essay. You're new in town. We can show you around." Stefan says but Lana gets uncomfortable. "I have been in Mystic Falls since the summer, but I still haven't explored much. Let's go, but can we just drop by my house?" Lana says very stiff. Elena and Stefan's jaws practically drop to the floor. I have to act shocked but I obviously know she has been here.

—-----

I somehow convinced Lana to come in the same car with me. I know she was eyeing my car so that was a benefit in my favor. We are making a quick pit stop at her house just because she wants to look more presentable for a restaurant. So she and Elena are gonna change at her house. She lives fifteen minutes away from my place so not that bad. Being a vampire you have to be welcomed in. If you're not welcomed in, you stand there looking stupid and a dead giveaway for alert.

Her uncle isn't home so that is a good thing. Something about him working in the hospital and taking the night shifts. Which means Lana is always home alone. I got out of the car to go open her door. "Thank you Damon." She gets out of the car blushing, I walk over to Stefan and lean against his car. I look at him and whisper , " Baby bro you think she will invite us in?" "I honestly don't know Damon.". Elena and Lana walk toward the front door, Elena looks back at us worried. Lana looks at us confused. "Guys it is cold outside, you guys can come in the house." she says waving for us to come. Me and Stefan look at each other and start walking towards the front. I put one foot through the door first to make sure and then my whole body.

"Y'all can stay in the living room , while we go change." she says leading us there. " Aw man I thought we were gonna see y'all change" , She rolls her eyes handing us the control just in case we wanted to watch tv. She disappears upstairs with Elena. You can clearly tell a girl lives here all nice and organized. "Damon, what is your intention with Lana? Elena already loves her so don't be stupid." Stefan says, looking straight at me. " Oh little brother, she's intriguing. Don't worry." I say patting his back. "She's hot, especially in her car, ufff." I say sighing. Why do girls take forever to get ready. I pull out my phone and text Lana, thanks to Elena she gave it to me.

Me: Why are you taking forever to get dressed? The dinner is today, not tomorrow.

Lana: How did you get my number..

Me: Calm down Pocahontas and hurry up.

She doesn't respond back, but instead I hear steps down the stairs.
