Mitchum's Point Of View;
His expression startled me a little but I still managed to offer my sympathy to which he just muttered a thank you. There isn't much more I can say and it all happened just this morning. Alejandra heard and obviously saw the solum look on both our faces as his head sank.
"What's the matter with you two?" she asked as glanced between both of us.
"Well I know... um I used to know his sister, Tamer. He's her brother, uh," I was already having trouble tripping over my words and it was then I realized that I never even got his name.
"Nathan Sebro and my sister, she passed away this morning," He finished making me wince at the last part. Alejandra let out a soft gasp and I saw Presley move a little further back closer to the door. I knew he was still listening from a distance as Alejandra asked Nathan more about what happened. I couldn't tell if he was either impatient or just uncomfortable with it all. But when Alejandra hugged Nathan offering her condolences he was entirely out of sight from the pet store doorway.
Did he really just go without us?
After the staff member found Nathan's wallet we walked out of the pet store only to hear a familiar frightful scream that drew my eyes to see Presley at the next corner. Two middle-aged men were there and one was trying to calm Presley down and explain something to him. The other had a long sword but it seemed that he stayed back because of Presley's shrieking. Immediately I went closer with Alejandra and Nathan following.
"What's going on here?" I demanded when I got near them.
"And why do you have a weapon like that in public?" Alejandra added.
"Hold on, kids, can you help calm him down first? Believe me, it was not my intention," said the guy standing next to his car trying to calm him. Presley at that moment was trying to control his breathing as he was hunched over.
"I just bought a sword today and wanted someone to watch the package in the car for me while I go into the pet store and buy my pet cat's food. It's an expensive antique," The man continued to explain to us.
"You didn't... didn't say they were swords. You just said that you want someone to...(deep breath) to watch a package someone is bringing to put into your car. Then-then this guy just taps my shoulder so I turn around to meet with this guy's eyes fixed on me and with the longest sword I've ever seen in my life." Presley said as he caught his breath enough to talk, pointing to the other one with the sword.
The man with the sword who was also dressed in some type of uniform began to shake his head to disagree as we all now looked at him. Then he turned his attention to Presley who was now standing up straight but still clearly flustered.
"Geez little fella I didn't mean to scare you, I was just told to cross the street and deliver the sword to a guy standing next to the car. I'm so sorry," The guy answered, showing his name tag that read Inventory Assistant.
I can tell that Presley was greatly embarrassed about what happened now but honestly, I found it laughable. I saw both Alejandra and Nathan chuckle a little. Well at the very least Presley managed to lighten Nathan's mood.
"Oh um, ok I'm sorry then for uh, making a big deal out of nothing. I'll just leave you both now," He answered, turning around and wanting to make a quick escape. He was going to cross the street but the light had changed and I knew he didn't see it because his head was down. I held him back by his shoulder which caused him to stop.
"Wait, don't go yet. Now that everything is settled, can you still watch my sword in the back seat while I run into the pet shop quickly, please?" The man next to his car asked as he accepted the sword of the other guy in uniform.
