Saturday October 14th, 1986.
I worked at a video store, a horrible uniform shirt and hiding the mature movies behind the counter so kids wouldn't want to check them out.
"Scar, Scarlett!" My coworker snapped his fingers in my face "what is wrong with you?" he asked, I had been distraught since my encounter with Kirk. I blinked my eyes a few times. "Maya asked you to take out the trash"
"I know" I added, rubbing my eyes and standing up "I'm just tired, that's all" I walked over to the backdoor, grabbing the trash bag and walking with it outside, I threw it in the can and walked back to my spot "do you think vampires exist?" I asked Cliff, my coworker as we sat behind the counter at work.
Cliff burst out laughing. "Of course not" he responded. "That's like saying the Easter Bunny is real....you don't believe all that crap do you?"
"But what if I told you I saw one just last night" I said, my voice lowering to a whisper, getting closer to her
"Liz...vampires don't exist" he said rolling his eyes. Cliff was a very down to earth person. He didn't believe in aliens, ghosts, zombies. He was always known for being rational and serious. It irritated him to no end that Scarlett was being serious.
"But I did..." I rested my chin on my hand "But wouldn't it be cool if they existed?"
"Of course they don't exist, you'd look at me funny if I told you I saw a Unicorn at a gas station" Cliff told me sternly as he raised his voice.
I chuckled as he mentioned and I nodded "but vampires are cool" I hit his side softly and then leaned my head on his shoulder as he read a magazine "Unicorns are more possible than a... pegasus for example"
"No they are not, Pegasi are also mythological creatures, I can tell you don't know the difference between the two" Cliff said as he shook his head, his face showed a very agitated look. "Now if we're being serious, Bigfoot has the most evidence" He added as he looked down at my head.
"oh god, we're not talking about this again" I rolled my eyes and got up his shoulder "bigfoot is a myth"
"Bigfoot is just a large ape-type creature that exists in the wild, there is evidence, multiple people from all over the world have claimed to have seen him, what do you have for proof that vampires are real? Besides a fictional book and a movie?" Cliff asked raising his eyebrows
