Third-person POV:

The following week was full of prep courses for the midterm exams, which would be happening the following week right before everyone could go on their Christmas break.

(I don't know if this is actually how it works, but for plot purposes, this is how it is going to be.)

Denki had never really liked the holidays because they had always reminded him of how he had gotten kicked out when he was so young, and so he never really got to have a Christmas that wasn't filled with sorrow or an Easter that didn't involve killing a person in some way or another.

He had hopes for this year though because the LOV had decided that they would try their hardest to make this year as normal for Denki as one could when running a Mafia.

He had asked at the very beginning of the year that this be as normal as possible so that he didn't scare off any friends that he might make, it turns out that there was no such thing as normal in Denki's life and that making friends is pretty much next to impossible once you reached high school. But he did it, somehow some way, Denki had made friends, and he even had a crush on someone, who he still hadn't asked out yet, but he was getting there.

And even if his family tried their hardest to keep Denki out of going on missions he still missed it, so he went on some every once in a while.

After what had happened with Mina near the beginning of the school year (start of chapter 6) Denki had been a lot more careful of what he said and did, this helped to get almost everyone off his case, almost.

The only one still somewhat suspicious of him was Shinso, and that scared Denki.

Somehow Shinso was able to see through Denki's wall, he was able to see the pain, the hurt, the abuse, and the trauma. He was able to see everything that was broken inside of Denki, so Denki just tried to hide it under more and more walls, making it thicker and taller, and stronger with every ounce of his being.

He not only had to hide the truth of who he was from the world but also his friends.

And with every brick, stone, and sheet of metal that Denki added to his wall, the more he lost who he was, all his emotions building up inside of him just ready to blow, but they couldn't blow, because if they did Denki would lose everything that he had, all of his new friends and all the people he cared for.

He was afraid to be alone again. He couldn't be alone again, so he just kept building his walls, until eventually, he was just a husk of who he once was originally, now buried under mounds of lies and fake feelings and emotions.

But what happens when that wall eventually breaks? We may never know, or it may happen sooner than we think. Let's see shall we?
