The entire year for Arshi unfolded like a beautifully woven tapestry, each thread representing her quiet fascination with Ryan. Every day, she found herself stealing glances at him, captivated by his effortless charm and the way he moved through the world. These moments were filled with a bittersweet blend of longing and hope, as she expertly masked her feelings, careful not to reveal the depth of her admiration.

As the seasons changed, so did the backdrop of her secret observations-sunlit classrooms, bustling hallways, and quiet afternoons that felt electric with unspoken words. Arshi often daydreamed about the possibilities, crafting intricate scenarios in her mind where courage would replace her shyness. Yet, each time she caught his eye, a rush of nerves would render her speechless, leaving her heart racing in a whirlwind of excitement and anxiety.

This silent year, filled with stolen moments and unsaid confessions, became a poignant journey of self-discovery. Arshi learned the art of appreciation without possession, finding beauty in the mere act of observing Ryan. Each lingering glance was a reminder of the complexity of emotions, and as time passed, she began to question whether she could ever summon the courage to bridge the gap between them. Would she remain the unseen admirer forever, or was there a chance for their worlds to collide in a more profound way?

The summer session had come to a close, marking the transition into a new school year, a time typically filled with excitement and anticipation. As the first day unfolded, the halls buzzed with a mix of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Laughter and chatter echoed off the walls, punctuated by the nervous shuffling of students finding their way to classrooms. However, amidst the flurry of reunions and new introductions, Arshi's heart sank a little.

She scanned the sea of students, her gaze lingering on each face, searching for a glimpse of one person in particular. Ryan. He had been her confidant and friend throughout the previous year, someone who always seemed to brighten her days. But as the minutes turned into hours, the harsh reality began to settle in: Ryan was not there.

Day by day, the absence of his familiar presence weighed heavily on her. Classes progressed, filled with new teachers and lessons, yet the joy of learning felt incomplete. Each morning, Arshi hoped to see him walk through the doors, perhaps with a playful grin or an easygoing wave. A week passed, and still, there was no sign of him.

"Where are you, Ryan?" she muttered to herself one afternoon, staring at the empty desk beside her. "Are you okay? Did you just decide to leave without telling anyone? That's so unlike you."

She bit her lip, anxiety gnawing at her thoughts. "Maybe he's just on a trip? Or maybe he's too busy getting settled in a new school? But why wouldn't he say goodbye?"

The thought sent a pang through her chest. How could he just disappear like that? "I can't believe he might have left the school," she whispered, feeling the weight of her words. "What if I never see him again? What if he's forgotten all about me?"

As the days dragged on, each bell ringing signaled another reminder of his absence. Arshi found herself looking around in every class, half-listening to lessons as she pondered over Ryan's whereabouts. "Maybe I should ask someone if they've seen him? But what if they don't know either? What if no one cares?"

The laughter of her classmates faded into the background, replaced by a dull ache of uncertainty. "I can't keep doing this to myself," she sighed. "I should focus on school and make new friends, but it's just so hard without him here."

With each passing day, she grappled with the notion that she might never see him again, or that their paths might have diverged for good. "I wish I could just call him or send a message," she thought, frustration building. "But if he's really gone... what would I even say?"
