___________________________________________This scenario takes place during the Beacon Academy Arc, shortly before the Vytal Tournament begins.
___________________________________________Location: Common room of Team RWBY's dorm.
Present: Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Qrow Branwen.
During a game night with friends, Yang calls everyone to gather around the table and pay attention. Once the others are near, she snatches Qrow's flask and begins to sing.
Yang: "There is an old tradition, a game we all can play. You start by getting liquored up and sharpening your blade."
She brandishes a kitchen knife and takes a swig out of the flask despite protests from Qrow. The others look at her in ways that range from excited, through confused, to concerned.
Yang: "You take a shot of whiskey, you grab your knife and pray, then spread apart your fingers, and this is what you say!"
Realizing what is about to happen, a startled Qrow whips around and dashes out of the dorm through the door, his goal being to put Yang as far out as possible from the range of his bad luck semblance.
Yang brings down the knife and starts to stab between her fingers: "Oh! I have all my fingers, the knife goes 'chop chop chop!' If I miss the spaces in between, my fingers will come off. And if I hit my fingers, blood will soon come out. But all the same, I play this game 'cause that's what it's all about!"
Qrow is seen running as fast as he can down the hallways of Beacon Academy, causing some collateral damage. He reaches the elevator and orders it, but is stopped and confronted by Glynda Goodwitch about what he did. After a brief failed attempt at conversation, Qrow jumps through a window, transforms into a crow, and flies away.
In the dorm, Yang briefly ceases the stabbing game, stands up, and begins to lecture.
Yang: "No, you can't use a pencil. Cannot use a pen. The only way is with a knife when danger is your friend! And some may call it..."
Weiss: "Stupid!"
Yang: "Some may call it..."
Ren: "Dumb."
Yang: "But all the same, we play this game because it's so damn fun!"
As the chorus starts again, we return to Qrow as he transforms back into a human and runs into a field where he comes across Oscar Pine. He frantically explains to him with hand movements the situation. Oscar gasps and yells at him to get on the tractor and drive, which Qrow does, heading far over the horizon.
A brief return to Yang stabbing between her fingers. Then cut to an exhausted and starving Qrow dragging himself up a snowy mountain, only to be surprised as he comes face-to-face with a monk who greets him.
Yang's voice in the background: "Oh! I have all my fingers, the knife goes 'chop chop chop!' If I miss the spaces in between, my fingers will come off. And if I hit my fingers, blood will soon come out. But all the same, I play this game 'cause that's what it's all about!'
Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and JNPR are all staring with wide eyes and wider-open mouths. Some are excited while others are trembling with fear and tension as Yang begins to stab faster.
Yang: "Oh... CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP! I'm picking up the speed! And if I hit my fingers then my hand will start to bleed!"
She puts down the knife with a slam, having not struck any of her fingers, then stands up and proudly puts her hands on her hips and smiles from ear to ear.
On the top of a snowy mountain, Qrow, now a monk himself, sits and meditates. On his head grows a flower of wisdom gifted to him by the gods.
Only when he says: "Mayonnaise!"
Ironwood has Winter take him down by force.___________________________________________
